The air is tight in your lungs, your vision distorted by a dark film of water. You kick desperately upward for oxygen, breaching the water's surface and sucking in a relieved gasp of air. Saltwater runs down your face and hair in rivulets, the ocean dark and tumultuous and stretching in every direction, and there’s nowhere to go. Nowhere except the Lighthouse, that is. It rears up in front of you, an imposing column of black imprinted against the powdered scatter of stars in the night sky, the light at its end a glowering beacon. You can swim for it or let the current take you - you end up at its doorstep regardless. Panting, shivering, and wholly drenched, you enter the tall double doors left open at the Lighthouse’s base. They thud shut behind you until, with the hiss of igniting gas lamps, the interior illuminates itself for the new arrival. A golden statue leers out at you from the darkness, the red banner draped beneath it proclaiming: NO GODS OR KINGS. ONLY MAN. City of Rapture is a panfandom medium-paced roleplaying game set in the BioShock universe, in the underwater city of Rapture with an overarching plot entailing the city’s civil war and inevitable downfall. The game is community- and prose-based with virtually non-existent AC and an extremely backtag-friendly atmosphere. Two gods, opposed in all things, struggling for power. One threw open a door, allowing the entrance of evil and chaos - and you. Because power comes from emotion, and you are the thing that can provide that emotion. Your fear and your hope can strengthen the gods, but though they may see you as not much more than ambulatory batteries, that doesn't mean you're powerless. Welcome to the city of Hadriel, where fear and hope battle to manipulate you. Enjoy your stay, and do your best to avoid dying. It makes such a mess.

hadriel is a medium paced horror/choose-your-own-outcome game with an overarching plot arc that characters can alter and effect. The majority of the events are jamjar-esque, which are put on by the various gods designed to make your character feel specific emotions. These emotions give the gods power to further expand the city and establish themselves against the other gods, which then will result in plot events occurring. Look out, though- not everything is quite black and white here, and it's unwise to make such heavy decisions without knowing the full story.

Initially, the two gods in the city are Fear and Hope, each of whom have different types of events to pull fear and hope from your characters. While Fear uses the power he gains to oppose Hope and continue to terrorize the player characters, Hope is attempting to gain power to revive the dead gods. As the game progresses, Hope will give the player characters the ability to choose between which gods will be revived; these gods will later initiate events of their own, make alliances, have feuds, and reveal more about the setting and what caused them to die in the first place.

We won the war. The invaders were repelled, somehow. They returned to their realm, and left us in peace to pick up the pieces. There's so much to do... and something else is coming. Not like this. Something new. Something dangerous. Something we're going to have to figure out on our own. And we don't have the Animals to rely on, this time. It's up to us. But we can do it. We've saved the Earth already. Now - we just have to keep it safe. Easy, right?

raisetheearth is a hybrid of an AU and a memory loss game; it's a sequel to savetheearth, set one year later. Player characters have been reincarnated into new lives on a normal Earth; havoc began three years ago, when pink lights appeared in the sky over Locke City, New Jersey, and things got crazy from there. In the year since the plot of Save the Earth ended, things have started to cool down, and the world has started to rebuild since then. Characters will soon have a new enemy to fight, though, and they'll have to leverage the memories, abilities, quirks, and possessions of their past lives to hold their own. While the plot has a planned direction, it's highly responsive to character actions - things the players do or don't do can change the story. Nothing resolves without character action. Push forward bravely, and discover the future.

Raise the Earth is open to canon and original characters. Applications will include both the canon version of the character (the "preincarnation") and their reincarnation that's lived a normal life on this world until recently, when they received their first Echoes - their first regains. Over time, they'll change and grow through their experiences, and become something more than the sum of their parts. Reserves and applications are always open!

You open your eyes and see you’re in a giant winged egg-like building, in a world completely different from your own home. Floating bunnies are here to greet you, cheerfully handing you a journal and chirping encouragements to write to those you know. From the doorway, you can smell the sea, hear the wind in the trees, see the long road sprawling out to meet a little city before you. It’s almost peaceful, even though when you try to step out, you’re blocked from leaving by a powerful force. Outside, the world seems bright and warm, and the voices behind you are cheerful. But still, you cannot leave.

ABOUT US: The Basics
❀ Kiseki is a panfandom jamjar game set in the separate world of Miracle Country, a series of magical islands. It is a CLAMP inspired (meaning series such as Card Captor Sakura, X/1999, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, and Magic Knight Rayearth – just to name a few), but no prior knowledge of the manga-ka is necessary to join – it’s great for both CLAMP enthusiasts and canon-blind appers.

❀ Kiseki has both game-wide events and player-run plots, with events tending to run on at least a monthly basis, ranging in themes from fluffy/shippy to more action/plot-heavy events. There’s a range from light-hearted, slice-of-life events to more horror-based or survival-based. Events are also replayable, within reason, inviting more character-driven plotting. There’s a huge emphasis on building CR and interpersonal relationships between characters.

❀ Kiseki is a small game (14 players and 44 characters) with a small and friendly player base, very backtag friendly and accommodating to all tagging-speeds and tagging styles; we have a bi-monthly AC of 35 comments total or one open post.

❀ Reserves are always open and last for one week, and the application itself is simple: no third person required! TDM threads can be used in the application to provide a sample of the character’s voice and characterization.

❀ The game pace is overall medium-paced, sometimes faster during events and comments tend more towards comment-spam rather than prose. However, our players match pace and format easily and the game accommodates all tagging styles.

❀ The game is comm-based and gameplay consists of both open logs and journal entries posted through magically-connected paper journals.

❀ We now have a test drive open to everyone!



ABOUT US: The Extras
❀ Kiseki has no medium divide with players – anime, video game, cartoon, and LA characters are all welcome! We are also lone canon warrior friendly and obscure canon friendly.

❀ Kiseki is all around ship-friendly. Both canon ships, cross-canon ships, and cross-media ships are welcome!

❀ There is no forced-humanization for non-human characters. Power-nerfing is relative, usually left up to the mun’s own discretion. Characters with powers that are too disruptive can work things out with the mods, who will do their best to accommodate them and the game itself.

❀ Kiseki is kid character friendly, with characters as young as six or seven in game before. The mods are always willing to work out accommodations and consider them when designing events.

❀ We are on insanejournal which means all free accounts get 100 free icons; insanejournal is currently on invite-code only, so please feel free to poke me if you need a code – upon acceptance into the game, an invite code can be provided if you need it.

You wake up, alone in the dark. There's a breathing tube jammed down your trachea, and you're suspended in a tube of clear blue fluid. Through the fog you can see shadows of movement, the muted sound of alarms crying. Upon registering your level of consciousness, the gravity couch drains the fluid surrounding you and retracts the breathing apparatus; the doors in front of you open, and you're suddenly dropped several feet onto the opposite wall.

It's a rude awakening.

You barely have time to catch your breath in the chaos around you. The sirens of alarms are shrieking in your ears, drowning out the cries of confusion from the people awakening around you, trapped in their gravity couches or stumbling through the wreckage. Through the dim red barely illuminating the destruction of this once pristine medical bay, you catch a glimpse of bright light; a huge rend in the outer wall high above you, overhung by broken structural beams and damaged cabling.

Climbing up takes all the strength you have.

You emerge in bright sunlight, surrounded by an immense jungle. As your vision clears, you realize you stand on the hull of a colossal spaceship, crashed on an alien world. There's a shout behind you, and as you turn, figures climb over the curve of the ship towards you. A hand is extended to you, dirt smeared, calloused and scarred by the efforts necessary for survival.

This is your rescue party.

ATARAXION PLANETFALL is a panfandom science-fiction/horror RPG set on an unknown planet in the aftermath of the spaceship Tranquility crashing on the surface. ▼ ABOUT US

▶ route_29 is a panfandom, medium-paced game set in the wonderful world of Pokémon! Specifically, Route is set in the Gen IV, HeartGold/SoulSilver incarnations of Johto and Kanto, but with an available Pokédex up through Gen VI and plenty of exposure to elements of the other regions through mod-run events!

▶ No prior knowledge of Pokémon canon is necessary; we're very friendly to PokéExperts and complete newbies alike! As a predominantly slice-of-life game with regular mod-run events and plots, your Route experience can be as involved or as low-pressure as you make it; we've got a little something for everyone.

▶ We're also very open to player-run plots and villain-friendly — while participation in Team Rocket isn't mandatory for our more villainous characters, we're glad to put the ruthless organization's resources at their disposal when it comes to wreaking havoc on the nation!

▼ GAME BASICS

▶ Route is a journal-based game, but if the upkeep and maintenance of your journal's friends list is an issue, we keep the community's reading list updated for you so all you have to do is join the communities, the same as in any other game!

▶ We're medium-sized, with around 100 characters currently in play, and we run at a comfortable medium-slow pace: on average you're likely to see two to four new posts per day, but with natural fluctuations in speed — we run a little faster during events, and a little slower periodically. We're also very backtag-friendly!

▶ AC is quite manageable — just three proofs per month, which can be satisfied with any combination of posts, logs, or comment threads (totaling at least 10 comments, 5 from you and 5 from someone else).

▶ Our next app round is next weekend, with the app deadline on the 3rd of October, midnight EST. If you're still not sure about Route, we currently have a GLORIOUS TEST DRIVE where you can mingle with our lovely player base and other app hopefuls! We hope to see you soon in the world of Pokémon!

You open your eyes and see you’re in a giant winged egg-like building, in a world completely different from your own home. Floating bunnies are here to greet you, cheerfully handing you a journal and chirping encouragements to write to those you know. From the doorway, you can smell the sea, hear the wind in the trees, see the long road sprawling out to meet a little city before you. It’s almost peaceful, even though when you try to step out, you’re blocked from leaving by a powerful force. Outside, the world seems bright and warm, and the voices behind you are cheerful. But still, you cannot leave.

ABOUT US: The Basics
❀ Kiseki is a panfandom jamjar game set in the separate world of Miracle Country, a series of magical islands. It is a CLAMP inspired (meaning series such as Card Captor Sakura, X/1999, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, and Magic Knight Rayearth – just to name a few), but no prior knowledge of the manga-ka is necessary to join – it’s great for both CLAMP enthusiasts and canon-blind appers.

❀ Kiseki has both game-wide events and player-run plots, with events tending to run on at least a monthly basis, ranging in themes from fluffy/shippy to more action/plot-heavy events. There’s a range from light-hearted, slice-of-life events to more horror-based or survival-based. Events are also replayable, within reason, inviting more character-driven plotting. There’s a huge emphasis on building CR and interpersonal relationships between characters.

❀ Kiseki is a small game (14 players and 44 characters) with a small and friendly player base, very backtag friendly and accommodating to all tagging-speeds and tagging styles; we have a bi-monthly AC of 35 comments total or one open post.

❀ Reserves are always open and last for one week, and the application itself is simple: no third person required! TDM threads can be used in the application to provide a sample of the character’s voice and characterization.

❀ The game pace is overall medium-paced, sometimes faster during events and comments tend more towards comment-spam rather than prose. However, our players match pace and format easily and the game accommodates all tagging styles.

❀ The game is comm-based and gameplay consists of both open logs and journal entries posted through magically-connected paper journals.

❀ We now have a test drive open to everyone!



ABOUT US: The Extras
❀ Kiseki has no medium divide with players – anime, video game, cartoon, and LA characters are all welcome! We are also lone canon warrior friendly and obscure canon friendly.

❀ Kiseki is all around ship-friendly. Both canon ships, cross-canon ships, and cross-media ships are welcome!

❀ There is no forced-humanization for non-human characters. Power-nerfing is relative, usually left up to the mun’s own discretion. Characters with powers that are too disruptive can work things out with the mods, who will do their best to accommodate them and the game itself.

❀ Kiseki is kid character friendly, with characters as young as six or seven in game before. The mods are always willing to work out accommodations and consider them when designing events.

❀ We are on insanejournal which means all free accounts get 100 free icons; insanejournal is currently on invite-code only, so please feel free to poke me if you need a code – upon acceptance into the game, an invite code can be provided if you need it.

The air is tight in your lungs, your vision distorted by a dark film of water. You kick desperately upward for oxygen, breaching the water's surface and sucking in a relieved gasp of air. Saltwater runs down your face and hair in rivulets, the ocean dark and tumultuous and stretching in every direction, and there’s nowhere to go. Nowhere except the Lighthouse, that is. It rears up in front of you, an imposing column of black imprinted against the powdered scatter of stars in the night sky, the light at its end a glowering beacon. You can swim for it or let the current take you - you end up at its doorstep regardless. Panting, shivering, and wholly drenched, you enter the tall double doors left open at the Lighthouse’s base. They thud shut behind you until, with the hiss of igniting gas lamps, the interior illuminates itself for the new arrival. A golden statue leers out at you from the darkness, the red banner draped beneath it proclaiming: NO GODS OR KINGS. ONLY MAN. About the Game:

Maison de Portes is a pan-fandom survival horror/mystery game. The potential for death and harm to come to your characters is almost guaranteed. The game is prose-only, with a very easy activity check. We have multiple story paths, with endings to be decided by the actions of the characters. The game is slow to mid paced, fairly small, with lots of chances for characters to work together to solve the situation they find themselves in. Forest Covered is a panfandom slice of life RPG taking a loose base from world mythologies, folklores, and the body of work of Studio Ghibli; particularly Spirited Away.

Existing on another plane of reality are many hundreds of cities catering to the unseen world of spirits. These cities are vast and strange, in many ways familiar, but inhabited mostly by creatures from folklore and myth. Most of them do not actually live in the cities for long, instead passing through them on their way to new places in the human world to call home, or just visiting for a vacation. In fact, the cities are quickly evolving into massive tourist spots, and spirits are just eating it up! Sometimes literally.

Of course, the problem with rapid expansion is the need for more labour. Lesser spirits are numerous, but projecting the image of an exotic getaway calls for something new. That's where you come in.

You aren't the first and you won't be the last taken from outside the spirit realm and put to work here, in the growing city of Koriko. Don't worry, though; the witch that runs the island picked you because you have a debt to pay. Just by working here, she'll absolve your debt and grant you a little favour in return. Just sign your name away and you'll be put to work serving the vacationing spirits.

ten_fwd is a community-based jamjar with a twist game that takes place within the Star Trek: The Next Generation universe. There is an overarching plot that characters are invited to contribute toward: they have been ported to the Enterprise by Q, who has marooned your character in the far future with the TNG crew; however, you are also invited to make your own mischief, and most if not all game plots will be optional.

An Artifact has been broken in two – on accident or on purpose, the Agents haven’t yet figured out. What is clear is that when the Artifact was broken, it tore a hole in the barriers between this reality and all the other universes that exist.

In its broken state, this Artifact has started pulling people from their universes into this one. Innocent lives, ripped from their home, out of space and out of time, with no way back until the Agents find the missing half of the Artifact and make it whole again.

Worse, it seems someone is bent on making not only the Agents’ lives difficult, but the lives of all these people now in the Agents’ care as well. The Agents are scrambling to find the broken part of the Artifact and fix the tear between universes. They are doing all that they can, but it might not be enough.

lastvoyages is highly focused on character development and interactions. It's set on a physics-defying barge in unknown space, where everyone on board is either an inmate or a warden. Wardens are there to redeem inmates in exchange for absolutely anything! The Admiral fulfills their deal once they graduate an inmate. Deals can range from something as simple as wealth and riches to something as selfish (and/or noble) as the return of a deceased loved one. Inmates have died or are near death (canonically or under an invented circumstance), and are in need of a second chance: they get that opportunity on the Barge. The game is of a medium size and pace, comm based with an easy AC, with several small game wide events a month. It's a CR intensive game, often focusing on the serious side of redeeming morally corrupt or gray characters - but with cracky storylines and events worked in to lighten things up. THE GAMES

thegames is a log-based RP set in the world of the Hunger Games, currently accepting Tributes and all varieties of Panem-based characters, including AU and OC. While there are a limited number of Tribute spots available, all roles within the city of The Capitol are available! From previous Hunger Games victor to posh Capitol citizen to silenced servant. Stylists and Escorts are in high demand! We’re also open to AU or OC characters for District 13!

Knowledge of The Hunger Games is not necessary. Everything you needed to know to play is found within the game information.

NOTE: The Games will be going into endgame in November. The final Arena will begin in September. Endgame will have more of a war focus with, potentially, limited use of superpowers. The mods will be intensively involved with driving the plot. While applications are open for now, they will be closing towards the end of the game.

undergrounds is a, small, slow-paced, AU game based in modern-day London. To quote the premise
The Underground is an alternate universe (AU) game set in a supernatural version of modern-day London. The game is a mix of urban fantasy and supernatural drama, with slice-of-life elements and political intrigue.

Player characters will join various supernatural factions vying for territory within the city. Choose your allies, build up your empires and make your move. The actions of player characters will determine who comes out on top in the fight for power.

There's a lot of opportunity for player involvement, running various plots from taking over territory to simple slice of life things and everything in between.

AC is pretty manageable, with various levels depending on how active your character is in the game.

Currently I play Sirius Black (AUed as a shapeshifter) and would love some castmates, including but not limited to: James Potter, Remus Lupin, Lily Potter, Harry Potter, Peter Pettigrew, Severus Snape, and pretty much anyone else.

THE PREMISE

The distant planet of Amoi is ruled by an elite force who are unreasonably wealthy and are automatically revive from death, essentially immortal. Their laws are enforced by Tanagura's authorities with nearly unbeatable advanced technology. On the other side of the fence, unrest is stirring. The people of Midas are poor and abused and rebels are banding together to respond to injustice with violence. They don't care who they have to kill, what they have to steal, or if they have to die trying. Things are going to change.

Whose side are you on?

The plot is directly interactive and the results of monthly events are determined by IC player actions. IC rewards and consequences include imprisonment, status changes, housing relocation, new tech/powers, torture, and more all earned over the course of one month. NPCs on both sides can be killed, pumped for information or allied with. The whole of Tanagura and Midas are open from the beginning to explore, with new areas fleshed out each month. These areas can be improved on through player-created businesses, destroyed by players during events, or manipulated as characters choose. If you'd rather sit out of the ongoing plot and just enjoy the cross-caste sex, that's welcome too! There are engaging and unique opportunities for both sex and plot introduced each month.



THE CATCH


• Characters with blue, green, purple, brunette, or black hair are assigned to Tanagura and given a small fortune of wealth.


• Characters with white, silver, red, orange, or blond hair are assigned to Midas and given nothing.



THE GAME CAP


• To protect the integrity of the plot and an individual player's ability to affect it, Tanagura is capped at 150 characters. The app round for OCTOBER is projected to be between 30 - 40 accepted apps, and applications are projected to be closed during November and December then reopened in January. Players can have a maximum of two characters in the game at any time and can only app one character per app round. There is a cast cap of 6 characters per canon.

• [SMUT] Sex is required to be played out. Smut Activity Check is every other month with IC rewards for double activity.


• [GEN] The focus of the plot is the power-play involved as a divided and volatile society collapses on itself. Gen Activity Check is due every month with IC rewards for double activity.
