Dailantia. A planet that once thrived on the mana produced by the World Tree. But resourcefulness gave way to hubris, hubris gave way to foolishness, and foolishness led humankind to the brink of calamity. An exhausted World Tree, a shadow of its former self, only bearing fruit once every three years.
This coveted fruit, the Great Seed, became the cause of much bloodshed. Eventually the entire world was at war. Seeing the hopelessness of the situation, the nations came together to form the World Tree Agreement, under which an organized tournament, the Yggdrasill Battle, would replace full-scale war in determining the rightful owner of each Great Seed. Participation would be open not only to the national representatives known as Cigruses, but also to those seeking recognition as warriors and even to those desiring the Great Seed to further their own agendas.
And this, brave one, is the world where you now find yourself in, summoned by a powerful entity. It could have been the spirit of the World Tree, Martel. It could have been a summoner with an interest in tipping the scales of the Yggdrasill Battle. There is no return ticket, and no instruction booklet. All you have is a promise of glory, and perhaps some insight into the truth of all this, should you have what it takes to win.
Be Your Wings is a "Tales Of" roleplaying game based on Tales of VS and Norse Mythology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norse_mythology). All characters from Namco's "Tales Of" series are welcome!
