What the Game is like: Mayfield is a panfandom, journal based game NOW COMMUNITY BASED GAME on Dreamwidth with horror elements that's basically as if evil had a baby with the film Pleasantville. Characters are pulled into a town that appears to be the picture perfect version of ideal American life in the 1950's, however, the leaders of the town are hostile to the new inhabitants who have to try to survive the horrible events that happen in the town along with unraveling the mystery of the nature of Mayfield. Characters also must deal with the fact that upon their arrival in Mayfield, they lose all important possessions and special abilities and are essentially normal humans who can only regain their lost possessions and abilities by participation in events. The events at Mayfield range from humorous to horrific and are very well planned by the mods and tend to involve lots of hints and new opportunities to explore character development and CR.
Size is largish, with about 3 or 4 posts a day during normal times and quite a flood during events which are about every few months.
