RUBY CITY

You first glimpse the city through the window of the train.

It stands, isolated by a stretch of green, alone and seemingly stuck in time. The train barrels inevitably towards it, intent on delivering you, its latest cargo, to this strange and unknown city. You don't recognize it. You never intended to come here; you never intended to be on this train.

But that choice has been made for you.

A screech of wheels on tracks, a belch of smoke into air. You've arrived. Welcome to Ruby City.

If you linger too long, you'll feel a strange compulsion to disembark, as though both your body and your will are being pushed by an unseen force. The train rattles away regardless of if you’d like to go back onto it once more. You'll find a strange pocketwatch in your possession and you may be so lucky as to hear voices through it —- your fellow city residents. Perhaps it is wise to reach out, to seek some semblance of camaraderie and comfort in this strange city. To learn of the who and whys of your being brought here.

Either way, it's best to make yourself at home since as you'll soon find out, there is no way out.

Ruby City is a panfandom jamjar roleplay game. Characters who are brought into the city will find themselves trapped, unable to travel further than the surrounding countryside. Moderator-run events occur regularly with spaced downtime intended to develop characters and persona plots. Player-run, game-wide events are also encouraged.
Ruby City is generally a slow to moderately paced game and players are welcome to contribute to world-building by adding locations within the city itself and offering suggestions for events.

TLV is a Dreamwidth, journal based game.

lastvoyages is focused on character development and interactions. It's set on a physics-defying barge sailing through unknown space, where everyone on board is either an inmate or a warden. Wardens are there to redeem inmates in exchange for absolutely anything! The Admiral fulfills their deal once they graduate an inmate. Deals can range from something as simple as wealth and riches to something as selfish (and/or noble) as the return of a deceased loved one. Inmates are characters of dubious morality who have died or are near death (canonically or an invented circumstance), and are in need of a second chance: they get that opportunity on the Barge.

The game is of a medium size and pace, journal based with a fairly easy AC, with several small game wide events a month. It's a CR intensive game, often focusing on the serious side of redeeming corrupt, evil or morally gray characters--but with plenty of crack storylines and events worked in from time to time.

Applications are always open! If anyone has questions or concerns about apping a character, we do have a potential apps page here, where members can chime in and give input on any character you're thinking of apping.

Hi! We do in fact know the other Courfeyrac, though the plans haven't gotten past "reunion/tears/talk of revolution" atm, and honestly hadn't expected anyone else wanting to app him since...yeah, Les Mis still isn't a big RP-fandom XD;; She was working on revisions all this week and hadn't thought to re-reserve since, again, small fandom as far as we knew.

dragonhaven is a small sized (100+ chars) that's slow/mid paced I'd say. It's community based, multifandom and does have player and mod run plots fairly regularly. )

Adding that I don't know about the rest of the APH cast, but I would personally kick my own grandmother for a Lithuania, Russia, Prussia, or Hungary.

So some of us forgot to mention the other canons we wanted characters from. So, I'm gonna add them now.

Our Tales of Vesperia canon is looking for some more party members! We've got a Yuri and Rita but we're sorely lacking Estelle, Karol, Raven, Judith, and Repede! We're just after the end of Act 1 so everyone's invited!

It is the year 3312. In a totalitarian dystopia, your characters are transported into the island community of Exsilium by use of a machine that was commissioned in secret by the Royal Family. Exsilium is inhabited by what was once the Royal Family and their band of now-imprisoned followers, dissenters against the government, displaced immediately following an uprising and failed revolt against a growing governmental entity. They are now known as the Initiative.

The government is now all-seeing, and deeply militarized; rulers of the United Earth. Characters are brought into what was once Britain, and they are given a unique weapon upon their arrival that grows and evolves with them. This weapon travels with them, grows with them, and adapts to that character’s weaknesses in a way to help them compete with the trials they will face both in the past and their present time. Characters are trained, daily, in battalions in the Initiative Hold. Whether they be fighters or scholars, intellectuals or brutes, characters will be militarized in the interest of the Initiative and a use will be made for them. Not all of them will be made to fight, but all of them will be paid and made to assist, ideally, with the Initiative's plans.

exsilium is a community-based, mid-paced, sci-fi game where your character is sent by the Initiative to participate in a rebellion against United Earth. You can be a fighter, a healer, or a diplomat — or even someone from the entertainment industry to rally the troops against the regime! Every month, there are missions where your character travels through time in various countries and time frames, all to change the events of history in the Initiative's favor, all for the sake of a better world. Basically, they'll have an effect on the game's plot! Additionally, your weapon of choice can be anything — a gun, a sword, a shield, even a voice! Even a spoon. If your character has a power from back home, they can be weaponized as well.

While the game itself is plot-heavy, there are also opportunities for slice-of-life shenanigans amidst all the war-related events. Also, the playerbase is generally backtag-friendly and welcoming.

I know this is the longest of long shots, but I would absolutely love some castmates for Alex over at

thegames. The game's main ad is over here, but in short it's based on the Hunger Games. Instead of yearly games, everyone gets tossed into the Arena every couple of months to duke it out.
