It's medium sized/paced, there are castmates for Gumshoe (Edgeworth and Kay might interest you in particular), AC is reasonable and there's an option for using purely comments for passing.

Oh my god I would kill for an Edgeworth or a Gumshoe for my Phoenix at smashacademy!!!! We would also love your Yarne because we have a growing Fire Emblem cast.

Anyway, Smash seems to fit your preferences - we have some slice-of-life, but we do a lot of player plots as well, which can range from light-hearted to very serious. It's a lovely little community - not that big, but with amazing people who love new blood. The AC is very easy to pass and we are paced slow to medium.

Admittedly Zatanna's history there sounds intimidating to me since I'm always worried about disappointing, but I'm also really tempted about this game. Helps if it's slowed down too. Yup, long term. Currently I'm doing sort of a trial period for six months, but afterwards I'll be deciding whether to stay for longer. Worst part currently is the time difference XD I get back from work around seven, and best case, it's 3 AM for everyone in California. I get a lot of "Oh hi! I was just about to go to bed..." sob

True, and it probably makes more sense to play him as is if there's Jade and Nephry. Though it'd be really fun to throw a de-aged Peony at them for a while too. Hmmmm. And apps don't open for a while. I could take my time deciding to app and/or being lazy with an app...

As for the voice testing comm, I'll definitely have to try him out there once I think of something to write!
