The ticking reaches you through the darkness. The soft pulse through the metal calls you forward, followed by the waves of heat settling over your skin. Every breath becomes a little more thick, a little more heavy with humidity and temperature as the ticking grows louder. Then, in a snap like a clock breaking into chime, you awaken.
Henlein is a steampunk memory loss prose game where the guilty come to pay for their crimes.
Upon application, muns choose how many and what type of memories to loose. This gives players the control over the kind of character development they want within the game.
Memories will be given back based on time spent within the game as well as participation in events. Some memories returned may be false and others may contain the memories of the original inhabitants of the city.
Returned memories are on physical cogs and may be shared directly between characters, stolen, sold, or destroyed.
With each death, a character will lose a body part and have it replaced with a mechanized version. These 'upgrades' will reflect the crime for which the character was charged on entry. Murderers may receive sharp new hands, arsonists may gain invulnerability to fire on that new part.
The city shifts every OOC month, opening new areas and giving access to new resources, and closing off old areas.
With limited resources and criminals all around, will you let the machine change who you are? What are you willing to do to survive? After all, there are none who are innocent in Henlein. It's our goal to push the limits of your character's morals and identity.
