The location is Death City, Nevada, home to Death Weapon Meister Academy, or DWMA for short (Shibusen). Unfortunately, the world has been torn apart by war against Witches and Shinigami-sama, the God of Death, has been killed. In his stead, he leaves a young, inexperienced ruler to take his place. In desperation, the new Shinigami activates BREW, an ancient and mysterious demon artifact created by the former Shinigami and the warrior Eibon. Capable of granting the most desperate and desirable wishes, BREW answers the subconscious wish of the new Shinigami - that is, to rescue Death City and stop the Madness from taking over the world.
Beings from different worlds and universes, of all ages, shapes, sizes, and backgrounds are now being pulled into Death City to aid the war, fitted with the potential to become Meisters and Weapons. There’s no going back. Until the war is won, those brought to Death City cannot be returned home. Will you fight with Shibusen or against it?
