I've never been into Archie either, though they seem to trying to do new things with him like Afterlife with Archie. I also hear Archie Sonic is getting better in recent years.

Yeah that's the nature of the beast. It's mostly slice of life with some action (mostly in the season opener/finales). Most of the songs can be very good.

You could always canon review if you feel you need the refresher. You should be able to find walkthoughs on Youtube.
