Sorry for the confusing wording! We're open to either kind, honestly. Some canons do have canonical alternate universes, after all, and we realize that can get confusing. In general, we're only going to allow two 'versions' of the same character - whether that's a comic Batman plus a movie Batman or an AU'd comic Batman plus an OU'd comic Batman really depends on who apps.

If more than two people get interested in the same character and are willing to argue their case, we're open to discussing different variants.
