May I suggest tushanshu for you? Although we're not "new", we just completed a full reboot (in the form of a year-long timeskip with setting overhaul) to a new game phase earlier this month, so all the characters are still finding their footing in the new digs. The new focus is on the character's ability to help shape the new city, with everything from politics to weapons tech, to black market, with potential to impact other nations as they're encountered. We've got several villain chars (I play one) in game already (some reform-ing, some not) and a pretty eclectic assortment of characters.

We're a slow game and majorly backtag friendly, no power nerfing (unless game breaking), and our game ad is HERE. We've also got a test drive meme over HERE if you want to try anyone out :)

empatheias is chock full of Ace Attorney people but could be interesting for any of your list. Characters end up on a floating island where their emotions affect the environment. It's fairly new and some major plot is just wrapping up. It should fit all your requirements, and if you have any questions I can give a shot at answering them.

saudade_rpg is a Kingdom Hearts-based game where characters end up on the world of Penrose after being drawn into the Darkness between worlds. It's slow, so I understand if that's a deal-breaker, but we backtag a lot and there's opportunity for some interesting CR there.

Well, considering you have so many awesome characters... can I propose Tre Purgatorio? It's a pretty new game, but it's shaping up to be really great!

It's basically split into three cities: The run down literal-ghost town of City Three, with its horridly crooked guards and massive black market. The Victorian City One, where everything is happy, or at least better pretend it is... and the technologically advanced (not star wars, more like Hunger Games capitol) City 2, where everyone takes pride in their buildings and their work. Which means they're more likely to turn you into the guards then help you if you start making a lot of trouble.

You can transport between the cities, though not without temporary consequences to your physical and mental well being. Dying leaves permanent scars, and will also cost you a (small) memory. Getting on the bad side of the guards will get you subjected to punishment, and you could even be sent down to the real prison for torture. On top of that, there's monthly events where they poison you, or mess with your mind in some way. It's pretty fun!

The days work on 1:1 timeframe, there's almost always an event of some sort going on right now, and the AC is only every two months - though its size does reflect that.

On the complete flip side, there's also . It's a nice slice of life type game, so far, with no real AC - lots of room to explore, and characters even have an IC way to create new parts of the world, so it's ever growing. You just sort of... go live life with your friends in mthese weird magical land where you totally got kidnaped.

We're backtag friendly, slower paced occasionally picking up around events/when we're not all dead from holidays, canonmates will obviously be hit-or-miss ^^; but we do have some Doctor Who sorts and Heroes sorts. For the game itself, Portes is a horror game, heavy on psychological thriller stuff but with bits of just about everything. Basically it's a game designed to torture your character's. ^^; But there's still room for lots of sweet CR, and it's as much mental torture as physical - not a lot of gore or anything. More along the lines of poisoning you, or making you swap personalities. (And the events generally have multiple options so everyone can find their own comfort levels, and plot their own things.)

Hello! I'm Alex, and I would love to try to viciously enable offer you CDC (consignmods). It fits all of your preferences: backtag-friendly (with ACs that I've found to be remarkably easier than I thought they would be), powers are left in tact (Kaneki was able to keep all of his powers, just with an amendment that he be susceptible to some of the in-game weaponry), it fluctuates between medium- and fast-paced depending on what plot things are going on, and it certainly avoids being too SoL because there are always missions and changes of scenery happening. The game's structure is that of your character being consigned by a group that travels around, destroying planets.

We've started to get a Tokyo Ghoul cast going—I'm there, along with a Suzuya, and we have a Tsukiyama on standby for the next app round. The... only issue about it is that app rounds are... really irregular. We had one just a month or so ago, and it probably won't be another month or two before we get another. I know this is troublesome, but we offer canon TDMs before app rounds, so if you're interested I can always shoot you a PM with a link or something! Thanks!!

If you don't mind place that's got an Earth setting, I'd like to offer you The Warehouse, which is set in Warehouse 13/Eureka universe - although you don't need to know either show to play there. While it's just getting started, there is an underlying plot with a mystery as why the characters have been brought into the warehouse, as well as opportunities to be affected by various artifacts from time to time. So while I would say there are slice of life elements to it, there's a fair amount of plot and events to work with while still managing to be a little laid back at the same time. As for AC, it's either 10 comments in a network post or 5 in a log as a proof, but you can split the comments in a network thread between two subthreads if you need to.

We've got both Merrill (hi!) and Isabela there at the moment. And while both would definitely be happy to see Varric, your Inquisitor would be more than welcome as well, so we hope you'll take a look!
