Typical AC consists of one open post on the main network along with something "additional." That extra something can either be another post (open or private), a log (open or private) or a combination of threads totaling 30 comments from you.
This month, everyone only has to meet half of the above AC requirements since it's a notoriously busy month, so you can kind of get an idea of what it's like if you do join!
Here's some more in-depth information just in case.
The pace right now is pretty slow, even for with so many characters. Recently, there's only been about 3-6 posts a day, but that usually increases to about 10 posts a day during the last couple days of the month. A lot of logs have been going up lately, too, probably 2-4 a day.
There's also end-of-the-month events every month and jobs for characters to select (should they so choose) to keep people busy.

Hmmm I like the flexibility of it. That's a mega plus.
And the events....I play over at Adstring so my vie wmay be skewed with that word XD; but like something all the characters participate in or something that effects them as induviduals?

Yeah, GB is pretty flexible! The mods are, too. If you can't make AC one month for whatever reason, they'll let you make it up next month. Basically, if you have any problems with... well, anything, you can go to them and they'll get things squared away for you.
For the events: the end-of-the-month events are... basically random occurrences. They happen because the thing that powers the ship (The Improbability Drive) has to be used to move the ship from planet to planet. And during that time, Improbable things happen.
Just going over the drive events for the last few months, there was the Konami event (people got random super powers or abilities), the aged-up/deaged event, people turning into ponies, the ship turning into a jungle.... Of course, these events only last for a few days so nothing is ever permanent. And you can opt-out of any event you don't want to participate in.
I kind of forgot to mention the whole planet thing. Oops. 8|;; But each month, the Thor moves to a new planet, so there's new scenery every month. Or people can just stay inside the ship if they want. This month is a planet made of diamonds, so... tons of people are stealing jewelry and stuff from the planet, fff.
It's probably a lot to take in, but the mods are very organized. They make posts explaining what's going on every month like so: Ba dada daaaa.
