Street urchins? Itinerant archers?

Katniss here is going to be pitched as a Twin City street urchin, and one who poaches/hunts outside the city limits.

Looking for: people who could peripherally know her, people she sells meat to, maybe some Tesh tribespeople she could have encountered at the far reaches of her hunting grounds?

I'm open to lots of different ideas!

Cho's family is from the Twin City. They started out really poor, and I bet Cho had a sibling Katniss' age. How about it?

Nope. They did some social ladder climbing. Which actually led to Cho's current state of being a hacker and hiding out.

But if Katniss is actual friends with a couple of the siblings, they could still be in touch. Actually, since she's an orphan, they probably would have offered to take her in, but I'm guessing she passed. Katniss and pride, man. It's a beautiful broship.

lol, yeah, it's more likely that she would have just lost track of them. So it would be a kind of obscure 'hey, I knew you once upon a time'.

Well, Cho's parents definitely would have tried to keep tabs on her, at the very least. Cause they have big smishy hearts, and now they have money. Stuff like Christmas cards and gifts they know she will sell. So they can give her funds occasionally without handing her money.

All righty! Communication from Katniss probably abruptly ceased two years ago when her mother died, because how does Katniss shot emotion. She'd just delete every email she tried to write and then wait until it wasn't relevant anymore.

Meant to hit you up on this previously - Mal could easily have bought meat from Katniss's on a good day anyway and she'll have been traipsing around the slums of Twin City for about a year now, so they might've run into each other in other situations to?

So, she's aware Katniss is a poacher, but probably not anything else about her life, right? And Katniss doesn't know Mal's heritage.

Yep, that's what I'd assume. Mal is going by a pseudonym for street dealings and probably wouldn't have asked personal questions anyway, at least not yet. Also as a note, Mal would probably have offered to trade charms for meat rather than pay with credits; no idea if Katniss would've gone for that.

Katniss would probably be better with trades than credits, honestly. If charms worked, she'd definitely come back.
