3step_paradise is laid back, focuses on player run plots and has a simple and easy application.

Nothing. It seems like forever, then suddenly, there is light. All around you stand the buildings of a futuristic paradise. It echoes emptily, yet water flows and electricity hums. By your side stands a strange doctor explaining already even though you've just woken up, and offering what people of the modern day will note is similar to a smart phone. Ringing quite impatiently, a voice waits on the other side: "You've arrived. Welcome to our game..."

The multi-verse stands just as surely as people imagine it. Its inhabitants are beings so beyond our mortal scope and ability to behold that they are simply known as gods. We give them a great many names, and imagine them in a great many ways. The only thing everyone can agree on, for the most part, is that they exist. They are our creators, our caretakers, and most prominently, our game masters. We exist for their amusement, and have, from time to time, played parts in a great many of their games. As it stands, three gods that preside over one particular floor of the multi-verse have invited the others for a game of amusement, laying the ultimate trap by invoking the other gods' pride when their game had been declined: "It's perfectly understandable if you think our creations can best yours."

So now you are a pawn in a game. The game is oft spoken of, but never mentioned in detail. Reminders lay everywhere, and for those few that think their gods have abandoned them and left them to their own fate, there are reminders they are everywhere as well. Plots to overthrow these three would-be game masters are in the works with traps having been carefully lain, and all that needs added is the final ingredient: pawns.

Welcome to Exit Void, a panfandom horror survival game set on a cargo ship at sea. From time to time the ship will dock and allow its passengers to visit new canon locations. The stay is never long though, so avoid the hostiles, grab any new cargo, and make it back before the ship leaves. Ghosts await you when you return. Some wish to help, others want what you have, and others just want to watch you suffer.

Distant Skies

distantskies is a free-flowing panfandom RPG loosely based on His Dark Materials. Accompanied by their dæmon, one's soul in animal form, characters will discover that the world of Cittàgazze is just one of many universes available to explore.

They can return home, stay in Cittàgazze, or venture into worlds unknown. The possibilities are limitless. But whatever your character chooses, nothing will ever be the same for them again. Characters aren't trapped in one place; they can visit any world in the game. Skies offers a slow to medium-paced overarching plot that places an emphasis on character and player-driven stories.

luceti is a large, medium paced and journal based game with an ongoing plot involving the mysteries of the 'Luceti Project' and the Malnosso organization. There are monthly events, as well as a 'draft' every few months in which the characters are recruited to fight for the Malnosso against the third party. The game is well organized and has been around for quite some time now. Its sometimes called the 'Game with Wings' because of a pair of wings that sprout on every character's back.

Applications open every other month, and the AC is the same, falling on the month after applications close. The game has the basic 30 comment activity requirement, and is very backtag friendly.

The cast is always willing to help, and we'd really love to have anyone join up, from any timeline really! And if it helps make up your mind, there are other sci-fi casts in the game (Star Trek and Mass Effect) to play with too. We've had a lot of fun, and we think adding more members to the folks would be just fantastic.

zodion is an 18(+) panfandom sex game involving the zodiac. Deities known as the Twelve bring characters from their worlds into the land of Zodion, marking them with a tattoo of their western zodiac sign upon arrival. They request that these characters "worship" (ie have sex) at least once a month. If characters go four weeks without "worshiping", then the tattoos they were given at their arrival will begin to release an aphrodisiac into the character until they finally do so. While zodion is a sex game, there are plenty of events that do not require it.

As mentioned, zodion is a panfandom game, and is also comm-based. The game itself is more or less a medium paced game, though we are very backtag-friendly! Handwaving smut posts is also allowed, as are fade-to-blacks.

glaxcinprison is a small, slow paced, community based game. The majority of interaction takes place through in person prose, though there is a network available for characters who choose to use it. The tone can range from light hearted to deadly serious, often immediately back to back for maximum impact of the latter. Powers are generally restricted to about 10% strength, but the restrictions are often lifted during events.

While the main setting of the game is the prison itself, there are regular simulation events which place prisoners in new settings ranging from the Wild West to Oz to outer space. These events come with their own set of puzzles from deadly monsters to complicated obstacles that prisoners need to find a way through. Mini events within the prison itself also help keep things from ever getting dull.

Medical types!
At the moment, poor Martha Jones is the only doctor in the entire prison and is having great difficulty keeping up. So we would love to get some doctors and nurses on the scene.

soul_campaign's stack of hams has tragically depleted in recent times, and I would really love if we could fix that!

Currently we have Rose, Dirk, Jake, Eridan, Feferi, Gamzee, Sollux, Signless, Disciple, Psionic, Dolorosa, Aranea, and Meenah. Our next app round is in November, so you've got plenty of time to consider and get your app ready.

We would pretty much love to have anybody we don't already, although I'm personally ready to sacrifice family members for some beta kids and I know that Dirk-mun expressed a desire to get the alpha ladies in game!

As an aside, I'm not sure what SC's stand on the other alpha trolls are at the moment so you'd have to ask the mods about that.

SC is a medium-paced game set in the world of Soul Eater, although you don't need to know anything about the canon to enjoy playing in the game (lord knows I don't). If you have any questions I'm more than happy to answer them for you. 8D

Disney, Fullmetal Alchemist, Tales of Symphonia

So, I would kind of love for more Disney at witchesreign and forever_after, both games of which are comm based and where I have Rapunzel at. I don't care if it is necessarily someone from Tangled specifically, I'd just love to get cr with more Disney folks in general! WR has a Eugene and FA just has me with Rapunzel, but there is also a book! Alice from Alice in Wonderland. WR is based in the setting of Final Fantasy VIII, and FA is loosely based around fairy tales!

For Fullmetal Alchemist, I have Edward Elric at scorched, and I'd love to get more castmates, specifically Winry Rockbell but I'd love to see anyone we don't currently have taken, whether this be 2003 or manga/brotherhood canon.

I'd love to see our Tales of Symphonia cast grow at soul_campaign, where I play Colette Brunel. We have a cast of Lloyd, Sheena, Kratos and Mithos (the latter two being from the Kharlan era before most stuff went down). The game is set in the world of Soul Eater, where characters become either a Weapon or a Meister (who wields said weapon in battle) in a war against the Witches and kishin.

Ataraxion needs robots

ATARAXION

We need more AIs and robots, okay?

ataraxion is a panfandom science-fiction/horror RPG set in a universe not so different from our own. The game is primarily a character-driven jamjar, with an overarching plot that will conceal story elements from both the player base and the PCs. Characters will arrive in-game on the Titan-class colonization ship Tranquility, waking from grav couches located in the ship's medbay. The ship (mysteriously bereft of all original crew members, save two) is heading towards a way home—a deep-space jump point known only as Ataraxia. From there, according to the captain, characters will be able to return to their universes.

This is not a game with a guaranteed happy ending. You might survive, but at what cost?

So here's the deal. We have a decent amount of robots and AIs, some evil, some good, some... neutral. But it's never enough! We need more! Here is what we currently have:

You wake up to the cool Autumn breeze, the feel of cobblestone on your cheek, lying in a warm puddle of canal water. The first thing you may notice is the smell of fresh produce, the sound of canals, or the presence of leisurely wandering chickens. The next you may notice is your own nakedness.

Welcome to the city of Venice on the isle of Venice, during some time in the 1800s. The natives are friendly enough, and while you've woken in the Piazza Di Saint Marco, they'll be more than willing to lead you to where others like you stay: A shelter in the Venice ghetto. If you haven't already noticed by now, there you'll find that not everything is as it seems. In the room you're given will be included cheap clothing and a holoprojector communicator, and encouraged to find a job in Venice now that you're here.

While all of the jobs available are the sorts you might expect in 19th century Venice, the structure of them are different. The more you dig, the more inconsistencies and differences you'll find. They say that money and sex makes the world go 'round. In this Venice, sex and money makes the world go round. Sex workers are the most coveted and well paid jobs in the city, and to make it anywhere at all you'll have to be willing to play the game as well. Not that you should have much trouble with that, because for some inexplicable reason, you'll find yourself driven against all reason to mate and reproduce...even if the latter part isn't actually possible.

But there's more than the sexual revolution that's different with this Venice. Something is off. The communicators, the people arriving from different worlds, and the pervasive feeling of wrongness in the air. There's more than meets the eye to this Venice, and the only way to discover it is to investigate yourself.

Will you have time? The winds of change blow strong through this city, and before you realize it, you may find yourself in another world entirely. Perhaps this world may hold the secret to what's brought you here and why? If not, there's always the next world. Perhaps one day you may even find yourself in Venice again, ready to find something you've missed last time, and finally put the pieces of the mystery together.

THE WOKEN DREAM

Welcome to Crater Village, a village as shrouded in mystery as it is in history. Ask around the village itself and you'll hear a hundred origin stories, a dozen names for the original settlement, and a thousand theories on what happened to the original and successive generations of vanished villagers. You'll also hear half a dozen explanations for the great crater it's built in. Everyone who lives in Crater Village has their own version of events surrounding this ancient village they believe to be the true one. General scientific consensus, however, holds that this crater was once rich with resources that the original villagers built a settlement to life off of, and once a drought dried up much of those they moved on to a nearby lake settlement instead. Similarly, later settlements arrived for reasons of curiosity, convenience, or resources in the forest and moved on once it became more convenient to do so than to leave.

There is, however, evidence for almost any of the theories should you look hard enough and with an open mind. This settlement primarily consists of the children of archaeologists, historians and other adventure buffs looking to make history and solve the riddles of the original settlers. Very little adventure actually happens in the village, however, as the mysteries of the village offer very little clues with which to solve themselves, and the crater is far out of the way of most of civilization. The people in the village are a relaxed sort, happy to be caught up in their own fantasies and their historical pursuits. You'll be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't started up their own collection of some sort of artifacts collected from the ruins of the old village, and few who haven't had a crack at the indecipherable hieroglyphs worn into much of the ruins. Despite their focus on history, the village itself is equipped with much of the most recent technology available in their version of Earth, a world without continents or countries, and maintains contact with the outside world. In fact, the villagers are preparing for a tourist boom due to the discovery of an ancient and pristine statue in the crater's forest, which has captured the fascination of the rest of the world.

Saturday, June 5th, 2460


A strong storm rolls in out of nowhere, unleashing torrents of rain, howling winds, and cloud-to-ground lighting strikes. While not particularly dangerous, the villagers lament the damage a storm of this strength could wreck on some of the more fragile ruins.

Sunday, June 6th, 2460

The lightning strikes stop, the wind ceases, and the rain reduces to a light drizzle, and the villagers rush out to check the damage. The smaller building with hieroglyphics in it has collapsed, but otherwise the damage is minute. However, all attempts at outside communication fail, and the storm continues to rumble and flash in the skies above them. A supply truck attempting to leave drives into the fog from the storm and is forced to turn around when they nearly crash due to the darkness of the storm. By the time they return, they find the battery of the truck nearly dead. A few of the villagers go out to check the condition of the known ruins in the forest.

Tuesday, June 8th, 2460

None of the villagers have returned, and an impromptu search party is sent out to find them. Only one is found, their campsite torn apart and the villager mangled almost beyond recognition. Something roars in the forest nearby, and chases the terrified villagers just out of sight all the way to the edge of the forest. Fortunately, the pursuit ends there, and the villagers make it home unharmed. That night, a small crowd of something charges out of the forest and attacks one of the far corners of the village, savaging the ruins there, collapsing buildings, and slaughtering or dragging away everyone living there.

September 26th, 2460

The storm remains over the village, often raining, but rarely howling wind and never striking lighting, but the storm is no longer the villager's worry so much as their bane. The fog encircling the crater prevents communication and hampers growth of crops due to the limited sunlight it allows, but its true danger is in trapping the villagers with the dark denizens of the forest. Since the initial raids, villagers have learned mid-morning to early afternoon means the creatures of the forest hang back to the deeper and darker recesses of the trees. Using this knowledge, they've been able to get supplies from the forest when necessary, and with the help of their modern technology have also erected a wooden fence around the city. Although it doesn't always keep the creatures out, it seems to slow them down enough to be fought off.

Friendly villagers are harried and worn now, ready and willing to fight for their lives, and desperate for any feasible escape. The fence on the far side of the village was erected not to keep monsters out, but to prevent desperate villagers from chancing the dangerous cliffs of the crater in the absolute dark of the storm. Some believe this storm may be a regular event, and one which wiped out the previous settlements due to the creatures it harbors, but others are more interested simply in survival than answering the question of why they must survive. Supplies are limited, and previously friendly people become more vicious the more desperate they become, turning their violence on each other at times, fighting over supplies and food and even over safer homes further from the line of the forest. Rather than drunkenness and mishaps, the small police force of the town has been employed to keep the peace between villagers when not fighting for survival.

When witnessed, the creatures in the forest seem to vary. Some have seen the Minotaur charging from the forest, others the Hydra striking from trees, some swear to have seen Jinni, and a statue in the forest of a previous villager bears testament to the possibility of some form of Medusa lurking inside. No one knows how the creatures arrived, though if you ask around you may hear many theories--as if turning their game of theories to the cause of the monsters is a form of coping now--and no one knows what the storm is. Neither does anyone know how people, actual people, have arrived in the ruined 'church' in the night, but despite the desperate situation and the tight supplies, the village leader, Miss Stotenheim, is willing to lend them shelter in exchange for their help in fighting off the creatures each night. The innkeep, Mr. Mellard, is likewise willing to give the strange arrivals free room and board should they need it.

Due to the remote location, most people in the village had a mobile phone. As a safety procedure now everyone is issued mobile phones. Given they lack production factories, however, most of the phones handed out were previously owned by villagers now missing.

Seven hundred years ago, all was still and silent. And then the Tu Vishan shook himself free of the continent and swam. In those seven hundred years, he has not stopped.

In time, he became a refuge. A beacon, a harbour amidst the treacherous seas. The kedan came to him, and they built a city upon him like none the world had ever seen. They called this city Keeliai, or 'Finality' and for generations, the citizenry have both maintained and defended it. It has suffered numerous civil uprisings, and at least one bloody coup, but it still stands, and Tu Vishan still swims.

But Keeliai is not only a city for the living. It is also a gate, one that straddles the In Between of life, dreaming, and death.

And that gate is now swung open.

route_29 is a medium paced, journal-based, panfandom, canon jamjar Pokémon game set in the Johto Region and was created around the G/S/C/HG/SS versions of the Pokémon games (though up to 5th generation Pokémon are available in-game now)! Characters are dropped off in the unfamiliar world at varying possible locations, depending on their roles. Any and all powers they have are stripped and gone, but any short-coming that may cause is countered through the ability to train, command, and make friends with the strange, delightful, and powerful creatures known as Pokémon! Catch, train, battle, breed, or otherwise just be friends with your beloved new partners! Or, possibly, you had a more sinister purpose in mind with the creatures you now possess...

Application cycles are on the 1st and 3rd weekends of every month, and character reservations last for one week with the option to renew for an additional week if more time is needed!

"Virtual Immersion is an AU panfandom RP based on the light novel Sword Art Online. It's a game that features slice-of-life, survival, and permanent death. It's set in 2022 and the very first Virtual Reality MMORPG has been released. Unknowingly, the characters sign onto the game at the beginning of its official service and find themselves unable to log out. They learn from the creator of SAO, Kayaba Akihiko, that if their HP hits 0 or if they are forcibly removed from the game, they will die. The only way they can escape is if they reach the top of Aincrad's tower and beat the final boss."

The game is not officially open yet, but both reserves and applications are being accepted until the 16th of October. There is also a test drive meme up and running if you want to try your AU characters out.

Yes indeedy! Looking for more HS characters to fill out the missing holes in our taken list. This goes for the alpha kids as well! Jane, Roxy, Jake, and Dirk are now all permitted to be apped.

Route is a medium-paced game that allows for people to either start out their Pokémon journey as a trainer, breeder, or even a Rocket. It is journal based, with at least three links for activity a month. You get one starter from a list of available Pokémon as well as the new option of beginning in Kanto or Johto. Yay choices!

THE DEVIL'S SEE

The game is getting a restart, essentially. It's a survival/horror game that takes place on an island out in the Devil's Sea. Every now and then creatures from folklore come out and play with the new inhabitants of the island. Some of them are just that. Playful. Others are more sinister, looking for a meal or whatnot. Once again, the game is restarting and there are only a handful of characters IN game. It opened on September 30th, so it's fairly small and slow paced for those that are interested in such things. It's also comm-based.

We run at a medium pace in spite of our huge size, the AC is bimonthly with 30 comments a month, and we're backtag-friendly! Your character now has wings on her back and has been captured by a bunch of jerks called the Malnosso. While parts of it may be slice of life scenarios, there are still challenges to overcome such as with the Malnosso and the Third Party Cult, in missions, drafts, and when things hit the fan.

Given Spartans are actually quite familiar with this scenario, you can tell it would be one interesting setting for them to recall "old times", so to speak.
