It's been aaaaages since I read Planet Ladder but I collected it as it was coming out and remember thoroughly enjoying it.

I have a friend, She plays Kura and I've played Seeu and Ragunahaan before. :)

I got her into it though. I can't emphasize enough how nice it is to see someone remembers it. Especially now that it's completely out of print.

Aww, is it? :( What a shame! I think I still have my copies somewhere. I can't say I remember much about it but what the hell, I'll have to go try and dig them up and read it again.

It reads a bit differently after the first initial read. I was surprised at how I read it now that I'm older than when it first came out. It was still very good but there are a lot of little details I missed at the time since I was focusing on the overall plot.

That happens a lot with series, I find. I recently did a canon review for 18 from DBZ and watched the Kai remake instead. Haha, I enjoyed it the first time around but I have to say this time, I enjoyed it less for how ridiculous it could be and more for the actual storyline.

I could never get into DBZ but DB was wonderful. I'm surprised you stuck through DBZ. The pacing of it's always been an arghfest for me.

Yeah, I gotta agree although I think the most interesting case of that I encountered was The Death Gate Cycle. I read that over seven times and each time I noticed a little more but the cast on that series is freaking huge.

It's what got me back into anime when I was in college actually! Kai has greatly improved it though. They cut out all of the filler and really tightened up the length of time the various fights and battles took thanks to that.

Then again, I'm also a big fan of G Gundam. You could say I kinda have a think for somewhat ridiculous, overblown fighting.

G Gundam was really interesting. Holland Gundam Pffft.

I have to re-watch that and see how it does. I always liked Gundam Wing but looking back I'm even more aware of character flaws that seem a bit much. Pilot Candidate also seems like a good one to rewatch too but man was that series slow.

My current mission is to find and watch 'The Princess and the Pilot'. I never got through Pilot Candidate either unfortunately.

*looks that up* Looks good. I certainly hope you've seen Last Exile then. I don't know if I would recommend the second one or not but the first is golden.

I started Last Exile and never managed to finish it. It's a little slow to start and at the time while it was coming out, I didn't have the patience to hew through that. My backlog of stuff I ought to watch/read is amazing.

Same. I almost feel guilty about it but time is precious and life does demand a certain amount of attention.
