Good evening, RPers! Do you all know what time it is!? ....Got it, it's 7 PM. And do you know what time that is!? .....Right, that's when ATP opens. Do you know what else it is!?

ADVENTURE TIME!!!!!

That's right! Do you play from a series about a boy and his dog and their wacky adventures? Do you like putting your characters into wacky situations? Do you like playing with a cast? Do you like space?

If you answered "Yes" to any of those, we want you to join our cast in gargleblasted!!

Gargleblasted, or Mostly Harmless, is a game set in the world of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Or universe, rather. Galaxy? Whatevs. No knowledge of the setting is required, just know that it's in space and it has the exact same kind of feel as Adventure Time: wacky and fun! The point of the RP is that your planet (Ooo in this case) was destroyed somehow (Ooo was turned into a sandwich btw) and a city-spaceship rescues your character.

Who's already been rescued, you ask? Good question! Gold star for you! Our cast thus far consists of the all-important Finn the Human and Jake the Dog, Finn's girlfriend Flame Princess, Finn's princess Princess Bubblegum, Finn's bff Marceline the Vampire Queen, PB's genderbent clone alternate Prince Gumball, and everybody's favorite king the Ice King. As you can see, we've done a pretty good job getting the core cast together!

So who do we need? You! And anybody you happen to play! I know for sure that we'd kill for a Fionna the Human, Cake the Cat, or Marshall Lee to round out our genderbents, a BMO or Lady Rainicorn wouldn't be amiss, and we'd love to see a Lumpy Space Princess because come on who wouldn't? But really, we'd take anybody from Abracadaniel to Lemongrab to Treetrunks. Just join us already!!

"This sounds great and all," you say, "but I still need to know more about the game because I didn't click that link earlier!" You drive a hard bargain. All right, Gargleblasted in a nutshell:

-Pace: Slow to medium, with more of a focus on tags than posts and a lot of backtagging
-AC: Fairly easy, 25 comments a month
-Community-based
-Gist: What makes this game special? Monthly missions or assignments for your characters to go into, randomized housing aboard the ship, and every month the ship visits a wildly different planet with its own inhabitants and zaniness and stuff to do!

On a more serious note (I know, this is Adventure Time, it shouldn't be serious!) I'd like to say that I've honestly never played in a game that fits a canon so well as Adventure Time in Gargleblasted. They mesh together perfectly, like peanut butter and jelly, like Siegfried and Roy, like movies and buttery popcorn. If you play from Adventure Time, this should seriously be your first stop.

THE ELEVATOR PITCH
Your world has been destroyed. But look on the bright side: You survived, and so did your friends! (Probably.)

Welcome to your new life aboard the S.S. Thor. This city-sized spaceship is home to a large, varied community of fellow refugees and alien species. It travels across the universe, visiting a new planet or other exciting attraction each month. During these visits, refugees will have the opportunity to work odd jobs and earn their keep, because not even the world ending is a valid excuse for missing your rent payments. Then, for a few days at the end of each month, the Infinite Improbability Drive is fired up and madness reigns.

Mostly Harmless is a roleplaying game set in the universe of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's a comedic sci-fi with healthy doses of action and adventure. However, first and foremost, it is a sandbox-style game: Players are given freedom to run their own events and shape the game into what they want it to be.


THINGS TO LOVE ABOUT THIS GAME
× The activity requirement is 25 comments monthly.
× The pace is easy to keep up with. During the past month, we averaged at about 1 post per day, and a log every other day. (Note: A large portion of the game was on hiatus this month.) Backtagging is common and heavily encouraged.
× Reservations are always open! Applications run on a two-week cycle, with the cut-off at 11:59:59 PM Friday EST. The next cut-off is in one week, meaning you could be in this game as early as next weekend!
× We allow many different kinds of characters to be apped here, be they animal, vegetable or mineral! Full details can be found in the application section of our FAQ, but the short version is:

• OCs are allowed.
• Fandom OCs are allowed, if they are not closely connected or related to canon characters. For example, Jedi Knights and Pokémon Trainers are okay, but Yoda's daughter or Gary Oak's girlfriend are not.
• AUs of canon characters are allowed, if it's an AU by the creators of the series. Some good examples of this are the Fionna and Cake version of Adventure Time, or the Another Day chapter of The World Ends With You.
• There is no character too minor to be apped, as long as you have the headcanon to fill in the blanks.
• CR AUs (characters with history from a different game) are allowed.

× As much as possible, we like to see characters apped true to their canon selves. That means no memory loss, no power caps (except in the most extreme of cases), and no humanization of non-human characters. We also allow characters to bring important belongings from home, including pets, weapons, and even huge things like spaceships and Gundams.

Really, we’ll welcome any characters with open arms! It’s a big series, with a lot of people in it. Don’t think we don’t want your character just because you don’t see their name here!

Our cast has gotten very big recently, but we’re always eager to see new faces. There continues to be special request for more Sand-nin, especially Gaara. His siblings miss him and Lee would like a re-match! Among the kids, we almost have a full Konoha 11, but we’d love to have Sai too! He’s honorary or something. Kurenai would be lovely - adults we want especially, to flesh out our cast more. Killer Bee, Yamato, Tsunade, Jiraiya, Iruka, your bad guys, characters from other villages (Cloud! Mist!), more ninja parents. I’m gonna take this moment to go out on a limb and ask if anybody even plays Shikaku, because I would give my right arm for you. Seriously. We want anyone and everyone!

Luceti has an overarching plot and all kinds of opportunities to get your characters involved, including non-mandatory game events (treated as experiments) every couple of months or so, and signing up your characters to get drafted and fight in a war! Muns can also sign their characters up for special missions.

YU YU HAKUSHO AND SOUL EATER IN THE WORLD OF POKEMON!

That is to say route_29!

In the Soul Eater side I play Maka, who is presently a lone canon warrior, I would sure like it if anyone came along to join her in the world of Pokemon.


Now as for Yu Yu Hakusho, our beloved shonen that existed before the internet, there is Botan (also played by me) and Yusuke who would think it nifty keen if anybody from their world came along (especially Keiko because we all know Yusuke needs to be henpecked.)

Route29 is a journal-based game (obviously based on the Pokemon games) that runs at a medium pace, moreover, we have a FOURTH WALL EVENT coming up! The details for that are explained here but basically you can pop in with a visit to see if you like the setting, and maybe join us! Though as a warning, applications will be closed until the 15th and 16th of June once this starts…so I suppose that leaves time for you to decide then!

smashacademy is a comm-based Super Smash Brothers "High School" game. However, we're not limited to just Nintendo games. In fact, we welcome ALL VIDEO GAME CANONS now! We accept SOME DUPLICATES. Our game is medium-small, pace is slow to moderate but picks up during events. We highly encourage player plots and there's also moderator-run events as well. Despite the "school" setting, we offer plenty of action, adventure, drama and of course, LOTS OF BRAWLING! Smash is not jam-jar (Have you ever wanted to see Ganondorf visit Hocotate? You can make it happen here...), powers are not nerfed, "humanization" of animal characters is your choice and you can switch freely between the two. (It certainly makes things like typing and talking a lot easier, though!)

DRAGON HAVEN

Dragon Haven is a pan-fandom, small-sized, comm-based game. It's an infinite world crafted by dragons, tasked with maintaining life and death. All characters that enter do so on dragon-back, rescued from a hostile world to the havens they've created. Once inside the havens, though, anything goes. Villains may be brought in by the playful and curious dragons, while others may cause the world to transform in...interesting ways.

After meeting an activity requirement, players are also allowed - and encouraged! - to apply for pieces of their worlds (or others) to be brought in by the dragons as well. They do love pleasing the community they've begun to create, so plot suggestions are also encouraged.

Players in Dragon Haven can expect to find a vast landscape to explore, plots that not only span regions, but the whole world, in order to keep characters on their toes, a friendly, laid back environment, and a game where the possibilities are nearly limitless.

Luceti, also known as "the place with wings", is a jamjar panfandom game that's mid-paced(picks up during events) and is journal based. Your characters are kidnapped and brought to this village to undertake a number of experiments that are supposedly meant to help get you home. All the while, there is a war with a group of radicals who want Luceti's inhabitants dead.

Apps open on July 1st with App Interest being open two weeks before. App Challenges are allowed at Luceti, so even if there's a character on reserve, you can still submit an app in.

The grand parlor looms in front of you, windows grimy and dimmed with dust. A sense of age hangs around you. A heavy door stands behind you, obviously not the way you came in. It's solid and unmovable when tested, locked tight.

About the Game:

Maison De Portes is a pan-fandom survival horror/mystery game. The potential for death and harm to come to your characters is almost guaranteed. The game is prose-only, with a very easy activity check. We have multiple story paths, with endings to be decided by the actions of the characters. The game is slow to mid paced, fairly small, with lots of chances for characters to work together to solve the situation they find themselves in. We are very backtag friendly and very willing to work around schedules, we feel that RP should be fun, not an additional job. Apps and reserves are currently open! FIRE EMBLEM: AWAKENING at DESTINY STRINGS

Do you like Fire Emblems? Do you like Awakening? Great! Because over at destinystrings we're looking for some more Fire Emblem: Awakening peeps to round off our army! Or... get us an army. You know, whatever. To-may-to to-mah-to.

We're a FE:A cast that's got a few peeps; namely, as of this moment, we've got a Robin (f) and Tharja from the first gen, and an Owain, Lucina, Inigo, and Yarne from among the kids. Lookin' like a pretty good start, but we'd love to have you around too!

Some things to note about this game: It allows canon AUs and multiple versions of characters, so it's completely open for stuff like a male Robin or bad-end!kids, even if those kids are already in. It allows for multiple timelines to exist so your character can come in being married to whoever you want with anybody as their kids or parents or knowing a different Robin or whatever it's all good! In fact, we encourage timeline shenanigans just because it's fun!

Having said that, what do we really want? Besides the obvious male Robin, we'd really kill for some more parents to help manage the inequality of kids-to-adults, a Chrom would be awesome for both Lucina and Robin, as would a Morgan since our Robin and Lucina are mother/daughter. I've heard dark mutterings for a Henry or Noire, too. But let's be honest: if you play from FE:A, we'd love to have you, even if you only play that nameless villager who might marry Chrom if he doesn't hook up with anybody else.

Yeah, that's great and all, I hear you saying, but that doesn't really explain anything. True enough!

Destiny Strings is an RP based on Persona, and while knowing the setting would help, it's not needed. Honestly, I think less than half of our current cast actually knows Persona, so yeah, really not. And anything you see that looks confusing, or you have questions? Hit us up, really, we'll all help out and hammer out any questions you got.

As for more details about the game: It's slow to medium paced, community-based, and has a fairly standard AC. It's got room for slice-of-life, fighting monsters, and even politicking if that's your thing. Everybody keeps their powers, as well as gaining a new power in the form of a persona (think a guardian spirit that represents your character's soul.) Persona can be clever or funny: Tharja, for example, has Jack the Ripper, arguably the world's most famous stalker, as her persona, while Robin's stuck with Grima.

Tristan, the Nysgod prince, has come of age and he must choose a partner from among the mortal races. In an effort to aid him in this task, the Grasp was created.

Part shadow, part magic, part technology, the Grasp has begun drawing people into the city of Dagaz from all worlds and times touched by the Nysgod people. Your race, gender, age, and species are of no importance. If the Grasp finds something interesting in you, if it thinks you might be a suitable partner for Prince Tristan, you will be found.

Throne of Shadows is a panfandom RPG with a slant toward high fantasy and science fiction, with interactions that will take place in both log and network formats. Taking place in the mythical city of Dagaz, the game guides players through the twists and turns of Nysgod politics as the shocking past of the realm is slowly revealed.

While there is an over-arching metaplot that will be revealed in stages, Throne of Shadows is also a player plot friendly game, allowing players to create their own shenanigans within the confines of the story. We are smut-friendly, although not smut-centric.

...well, he definitely isn't in Future!Dystopian!England. Ahem.

The date is 3313 C.E. The place is the island of Exsilium, that which was once Britain...and far beyond. A single totalitarian government rules the world, and three hundred years ago it began dumping dissenters and revolutionaries against the United Earth onto this prison island. Today the Initiative, an underground organization is workingto amass an army of Transports (you, specifically) to utilize in an ultimate war against the United Earth.

As the UE takes its super-human military into other worlds to drain their resources, the Initiative is working against it, sending characters on missions throughout the span of time, in a carefully projected timeline of major and minor world events to weaken the United Earth's power from the past by shattering the foundation on which they've built themselves up and ultimately whittle them down in preparation for a final, successful revolution.

(Templars are probably involved somehow, am I right?)

exsilium is a medium/fast-paced (4-5 posts on an average day, gets busier around events), community-based DW game with plenty of plot and room for slice of life elements depending how people settle in. Powers remain intact and characters are given a sentient weapon that evolves over time.

Activity check is two posts/logs/threads per month, and the game is backtag-friendly with lots of opportunities for both logs and commentspam. Reserves are open with the next application cycle starting June 1.

You open your eyes and see you’re in a giant winged egg-like building, in a world completely different from your own home. Smiling women are here to greet you, cheerfully handing you a journal and chirping encouragements to write to those you know. From the doorway, you can smell the sea, hear the wind in the trees, see the long road sprawling out to meet a little city before you. It’s almost peaceful, even though when you try to step out, you’re blocked from leaving by a powerful force. Outside, the world seems bright and warm, and the voices behind you are cheerful. But still, you cannot leave.

Kiseki is a journal-based, slice-of-life jamjar game, with a small and friendly playerbase! We have 9 players and 33 characters, currently, and always hoping for more. The setting is light-hearted with occasional underlying creepiness (think Outo Country in Tsubasa), and we have player-run plots and game-wide events regularly.

We are a CLAMP-only game, great for minor, underappreciated CLAMP series and characters as well as the popular ones!

Reserves are always open and last for a week. The application itself is simple (no third person!). Game pace can be fast for a small game (during events, usually) but overall is slow to medium-paced. Comments are usually comment-spam, everyone is very backtag friendly, and our bi-monthly AC is low-pressure.

Additionally, we are on Insanejournal, which means 100 free icons! (I’m happy to make icon sets for anyone interested, or to provide HQ scans and raws.)

THE STORY

It was the year 2020 when it happened...

A certain group in the scientific community was taking that step forward into the future, aspiring to attain the answer to the universe that we all have sought for thousands of years. The Unified Universe Project was put into action, and that summer the group behind it was to reveal their miraculous invention: the Equator.

As the name states, it was to derive the equation that would answer everything, give the key to the universe and all within it. A complicated project, years in planning, a product of their hopes and dreams. December 31st, 2019, with billions of people across the world watching a live broadcast, their ideas were put to the test, and the machine was activated.

And it could not have gone more wrong.

An equation it did derive, but not to their liking. Bits of the special universe began to expand and collapse, and the space-time that held reality together collapsed, caving and distorting the world into something no one recognized. At least...as a whole.

For those that survived, the world they found themselves in was familiar and strange at the same time. Creatures and beings thought never to exist outside of the imagination were suddenly real. The Unified Universe Project sought to explain the mystery, and began to realize that it was no, in fact, that the universe had collapsed or broken in...

...It was that time itself had compressed, and the fluctuations of the every changing and growing universe were pressed into one point, bringing into existence things long gone and things to come.　Peoples from different worlds and different times, billions of years and different universe collapses and rebirths apart, all in the same place.

While all the new groups of beings find themselves together, the Unified Universe Project is determined to try and reverse the effects, and return space and time to their normal states. While the confused wander the broken mishmash of landscapes, some beings do not take lightly to have their existence so altered... and plan to make this known to everyone.

THE PREMISE

The game begins after the Time Compression, where all worlds have been squished into one. The landscape is that of destroyed cities and often discolored forests, fields, and the ever changing sky. It looks like a constant battle of one reality trying to overtake the other, but never quite making it. As time continues to squeeze into one single reality, people are knocked out, only to find themselves woken up in the strange new place.

Each series/game/movie/book/show will be taken as a separate universe that has been/is being compressed. Characters will arrive as their world becomes assimilated. Because it is not only space, but time that is compressed, even characters from the same world may find themselves coming into contact with someone they know that seems to be from their future or past. (You can take a character from any point in their series).

While the Unified Universe Project works to reverse the problem, in the meantime they have developed a Palm Pilot-like device that people all over can use to keep updated on the state of the project and to communicate with each other. However, in their efforts to fix their mistake, the Project seems to make more, causing the world to change even more. The Spirits take their chances as well to take out their anger on the people by messing with their times, genetic make-up, and more.

Rekindle

"Something went wrong, and we need your help." Perhaps this is the first time you heard pleas for help, or perhaps you've answered them many times before. In your own world, or elsewhere... Regardless of if or when, or maybe even how, you have been called to another city in desperate need of your help: Saeng Seong. Something went wrong, though what that something was, how it happened, and how exactly you're supposed to go about fixing it is something you'll have to discover for yourself. The residents have made it clear - until you can help them, they won't, can't, send you home. They need you to help save them, after all. It's something only you can do. The City and its native residents seem to be eager to help you at least, and for all your unwilling arrival, they've certainly done their best to make sure that everyone's stay is as comfortable as they can make it. But don't think you can fix Saeng Seong's problems alone. In fact, this is one adventure you simply can't complete by yourself, no matter how independent or how much of a loner you were up till now. Because in Saeng Seong, if you can't get in touch with people - actual touch - then you may find yourself destabilizing, withering away. It doesn't have to be much; you could probably get by on handshakes if you do it enough. But without keeping in contact with the other new arrivals, you won't make it far. One thing's for sure at least. You'll never be entirely alone…

Rekindle is a panfandom game, with fluffy, slice-of-life elements and a slow-moving underlying plotline that characters can have some impact on. Characters brought to the city will need to keep up a certain "quota" of physical contact with other player characters as they settle into and explore the strange city of Saeng Seong, or else risk losing control of their powers (if they have any) and developing withdrawal symptoms that get progressively more severe.

What's going on in Saeng Seong? Why are they really here, and how can they expedite the process of going home? That's something they can explore and find out. Or perhaps they can just settle down, and find a good person to cuddle with for a while. Either way works!

Luceti itself is a large, medium paced and journal based game with an ongoing plot involving the mysteries of the 'Luceti Project' and the Malnosso organization. We have monthly events, as well as a 'draft' every few months in which the characters are recruited to fight for the Malnosso against the third party in a roundabout method of defending the village, as well as consistent opt in missions. The game is essentially what you make of it, with downtime in the village where there are monthly events and player plots, and player opt in combat outside of it.

Applications open every other month, and the AC is the same, falling on the month after applications close. The game has very simple activity requirements, and is very backtag friendly.

teleios

Teleios is a small, plot-based redemption game that is set in a fantasy world of the same name. Characters rack up a "debt" based on their canon and pre-canon actions, and are brought to Teleios in order to work that debt off by rebuilding the city in order to earn their passage into Utopia.

The game has no network, though it does have P2P and small group calling features. It's primarily action-based, and posts can be made in actionspam or prose formats. The game runs in real time where 1 day IRL = 1 day in game.

There are fully interactive, regularly available NPCs with whom characters can build CR. There's a heavily engaging metaplot going making use of missions and NPC interaction in order to drive player characters forward in their development.

A Panfandom Exploration RP

Dyspros is a panfandom game with an emphasis on exploration taking place in its own world inspired by classic JRPGs, MMORPGs, and high fantasy fiction. Thrown into the world of Reis Alureila, characters will awaken in the illustrious Castle Dyspros in the middle of the city, in front of a set of ornate double doors. These doors lead farther into the castle, while the doors behind them lead to the city they will be spending most of their time in: Goldvale.

Characters will be invited to join Goldvale's guilds—organized groups of people from similar trades and professions—and will have the option to explore Goldvale's mysterious castle. Character interaction will take place within Goldvale, as well as the surrounding world.

The overarching plot includes elements of adventure, political intrigue, as well as fun and complex NPCs. Needless to say, a character's stay in Goldvale will be an eventful one.

Scorched is a large, fast-paced, comm-based, Dreamwidth RPG that is known for its steampunk setting, and quickly growing playerbase. The game takes place in a fantasy world called Anatole that is roughly the size of Victorian England, but ten kinds of steampunk and shrouded in magic Mist that can grant characters, upon entering Scorched, new superpowers or changes to their already present powers.

The OOC environment is friendly, and player-based plots are welcomed and encouraged and the mods work very hard to facilitate them and schedule them. The game runs in real time. There are also scheduled recurring events, now bimonthly, called broadcast minds, wherein characters' thoughts, feelings, dreams and/or memories can be broadcast over the network.

The game has a steampunk-fantasy vibe going on, with slice-of-lifey downtime between events (which are often player-run stuff). The pace is medium on the whole, but can get pretty fast-paced during events and especially broadcast mind. It's backtag friendly. Violence is common due to the wealth of monsters running around in the Mist and the ruins (but nothing beyond what BtVS/AtS characters are used to).

Applications for this cycle close today, but reserves generally open the third week of the month and applications the week after that (the official dates for June are not yet on the calendar). They remain open for a week, or until 40 applications are received.
