LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE

Once upon a time, in a land as humdrum as the one we live in, there was a set of young twins with a very vivid imagination. Freda and Freddy Rogers would have the most wonderful playtimes, as fanciful children are inclined to have. And for the most part, that was all it was, the clever musings of youngsters’ employment. But as it so happened, one average afternoon, the children enthralled in an absorbing game of pretend, something extraordinary happened.

Figments of the children’s make-believe coalesced, multiplied and aligned, and with a power they didn’t even know they had, Freda and Freddy willed into being a whole, distinct and thriving world that existed entirely within their collective imagination. Completely oblivious to this astonishing creation, the children proceeded with their activities as if nothing had happened; and with the world of Imagination now fully formed and mostly separate from the children's influence, it started to take on a life of its own.

The power of the world grew until one day the inhabitants coming to life got a little bit more unusual. Characters, of all sorts, from every kind of fictional story, started arriving at the castle situated on the outskirts of the fully modern, sprawling metropolis…

Upon arrival the characters are encouraged to embrace their new living arrangements. But, as if arriving in a strange land isn’t enough to shake the resolve of any hero, the more the characters explore their new home the more surprises are just waiting to be discovered. For starters, they are stuck in the Land of Make Believe with no explanation and no promise of a quick resolution to their displacement woes. Dragons thought to exist only in fairy tales circle in the sky far above the land, all the characters need to do to see them is step out onto the castle roof. And for the characters particularly afflicted with curiosity, the shocking truths about their ‘fictional’ nature are just begging to be uncovered...

Like all great adventures, this is not where the excitement ends. No, no, no. Because amid trying to establish a new life with new neighbors and new aspirations, every so often the imagination of Freda and Freddy touches the world and peculiar, astonishing things happen that scramble everything about.

The Land of Make Believe is a panfandom RPG on Insanejournal open to almost every canon character from every fandom (there are a few banned fandoms made so out of respect for their creators’ wishes - you may see the list HERE). Make Believe has mod driven plots that happen about once a month, but it is also a player plot friendly game. We are smut-friendly, although not smut-centric. The game environment is conducive to non-human characters. We are also kid-character welcoming.
