Ahhh, I don't know that book series / film (google tells me it is both)

Let me squint at google a bit to see what I can learn or find in the way of things about that series! There's probably a way to mash them together (either gently or by force) and I do quite enjoy working out AUs!

I'm definitely following book canon. The movie took about the last third and completely changed everything (her character went from being reincarnated lady of the lake to reincarnated Arthur...)

So there was a possible Merlin figure in the book, but it was never confirmed if he was or not. Just a suspicion on Ellie's part. So it would be workable if we bend a few things around.
