[community profile] somnambulists is a new game with reserves open now; we're scheduled to open April 10th.

I will say right off the bat that character's powers are initially capped down to a low level at the beginning, but it's not permanent; characters can regain their powers over time, and powerless characters also have the option of learning powers. If that's an absolute dealbreaker then feel free to disregard the rest of this. I did feel the game covers most of the other things you're looking for though, so I figured I'd call it to your attention.

The game is very much meant to be villain-friendly; we're trying to foster an environment that is much more shades of grey oriented and leaves plenty of room for villains to do their thing. We have a karma system in place in the game that's based on a character's actions (essentially this is how characters earn points to buy their powers back and other perks) that encourages characters to earn both negative and positive karma. Your character will actually need negative karma to participate in some plots or buy certain abilities later on down the line, so getting up to nefarious things does have some built-in game encouragement.

We're totally fine with using headcanon to flesh out a character, and obscure characters are definitely welcome. We also have a game-specific AU system in place, where each character gets one change they can make to their timeline; you can use this to have a canonically dead character avert their death entirely, and because the game is based in the dream world and characters go back to their worlds periodically when they wake up, you have the option of playing what-if games with your character's AU'd canon timeline at whatever pace you like.

We're expecting the game to be medium-paced, and the AC isn't too hard. The AC period lasts around 2-3 months and we don't require strict comment counts. It's definitely meant to be plot-focused, and we're really interested in fostering heavy player involvement; we're very welcoming of player plots, and are really interested in having character actions have an impact on the plot as well as the setting itself.

Oh man, all those juicy details! Thanks so much for the write-up, I'm glad to know I have some great options for the future. :3 Oh -- one more thing. By any chance, is carrying over CR/development from another game allowed?

As for game history, I'm afraid that at this time we don't allow carried over CR, since we already mandate a canon AU change and we felt that having extra game history instead of/on top of that would be a little too much of a canon divergence for characters to start out with.
