Hi there! I'd like to run a little (or maybe not so little) game by you called luceti for your Gary! It's a medium-large journal-based, but is fairly relaxed-paced. Only a few posts go up per day, and everyone backtags into eternity.

We've also got a sizable Pokémon cast that Gary would be able to interact with, with several trainers from other canons who would know him as Green/Blue, and an Ash from much later on in canon who I'm sure would love to see his original rival.

AC's a bit bigger than you've specified, clocking in at 30 comments, but it's set over a 30 day period and only runs every other month. Furthermore, if you don't have enough for AC there's plenty of room for making up for it as long as you talk to the mods.

As far as its genre is concerned? Well, Luceti's a bit of a mixed bag. It has a large slice-of-life element to it, but there's also a deep overarching plot involved, with monthly events ranging from effects on the characters, wars taking place, and missions the characters go on. Nothing is mandatory, so it's very much a game of you get out of it what you put into it.
