Though I did have a question before I write up anything for the test drive that I couldn't find an answer to on the premis/FAQ or anything: is it possible for a character to be a single parent?

Myself, as well (GMT -5)! It doesn't mean anything when you have weird hours, I guess. Oh, I know your type. Few and far between, but always a delight! The Ellone on the test drive is also a current player and is not on hiatus, so she'll probably (be forced to) hit you up (by me). Anyway, I know there's kind of a stigma with plurk and some people are really expectant with it, but I have a really lax add/removal policy!

It is! I would suggest specifically requesting it in your app. If you have a house in mind already or know someone in game, I'd holla at them, too? Quistis was completely alone for her first month and I think it's pretty standard for some to be single parents semi-permanently, but empty houses are pretty unheard of.
