I'll consider any genre outside of heavy slice of life. Games that have a role for sneaky and/or booksmart characters would be especially delightful.

ngl, i'd love to see liara in box. it's been pretty fast but the new mods are leveling it out to a much more manageable pace, and they're working on pulling together an overarching plot. all character roles have their times to shine (sometimes action heroes carry the events/plots, sometimes the smart/bookish sort are what it takes to figure stuff out, etc etc) so you'd have no lack of opportunity for her.

I've been considering Box off and on for ages, but I think I might see how things settle out before taking the plunge, both in terms of pacing and how the new mods find their footing.

oh yeah no worries, i definitely understand uncertainty. 90% of the players currently in the game felt that same way through most of this, and things are only just starting to re-settle.

but if things turn out in your favor, we'd still love to have you. your liara is top-notch. c:

I will definitely keep nosing around and see how everything looks in a few weeks. (And it looks like I missed the fine print on the apps page and they don't open 'til the end of May anyway, so!)

We've got a few MAss Effect characters over at outer_divide ^^ It fits your criteria, though it might be a bit on the slow side. It's a sci fi mystery game with a wide open world to explore and lots of plot threads to tug on and see where they go. The AC is based entirely on prose comments, so it's definitely prose friendly, and the player base is pretty friendly ^^

Also, I've been told I need to play my Victorian-era werewolf there off an Ichabod Crane, sooooo there's that, too :B

Oh my goodness, a Sabetha player.

synodiporia is a medium-paced, prose-friendly mystery/exploration game where the characters are tossed between alternate universes, with some characters being brainwashed and some blending in, and an overarching metaplot. I think it fits your preferences pretty well, and uh.

I don't have either character in-game at the moment, but I have a dude-Shepard reserve right now and am trying to build an ME cast there, and well...

I have this guy, and would be elated to app him in if there was a chance of playing off a Sabetha.

Oh, wow, I didn't realize anyone even played from these books. That is awesome!

And from the pitch, the game looks to fit my preferences perfectly (although I will admit the 90s sci-fi nostalgia is also nudging me a bit). I will poke around a bit to figure out whether Sabetha or Liara would work best for a first character.

Haha, I have seen ONE other Locke, but no other characters. I'm leaning on a friend to try out Jean, but no luck yet. Whether you app or not, if you want to meme or musebox anything at some point, just let me know & I am THERE.

If/when you decide to app one or the other, just let me know which so I know which app I should be working on!! I'm closer to having a Shepard app ready at the moment, but, like Locke, I could drop everything & scramble for a chance to hang around a Sabetha, :-P.
