Must have plot that the characters can alter and a setting the characters can have a signifigant effect on. A fully formed NPC society is a plus too, as is permadeath. Castmates nice but not necessary. For Doubtful Guest I'd prefer somewhere more comedic, though a dark bent to the comedy is fine.

AUs OK. Adult content games OK for most characters.
