Have you considered hollyheights? It's slice of life with monthly events that can vary from traditional "curse" style events to more grandiose ones (April's event was a setting change RPG event, complete with quests and monsters!). I would call it a bit faster, though I think it's more along the lines of commenting as opposed to posts; because of the event, if you're looking to gauge posts, I would suggest looking at March's calendar.

We have a Vaan from last round, but basically the entire FF casts would love a Balthier. There is plotting done on plurk (I think it's unavoidable), but I still talk on AIM and through PM with people and I know there's a few people in game that exclusively communicate that way. I won't make any promises about that, though. If you'd like to give us a whirl, we've got a test drive up over here & I would be happy to answer any questions you might have!

sci-fi dealbreaker? obviously i can't say much for the pace (though i can postulate with a good amount of certainty that it'll definitely be on the medium-to-faster side) consignment might be worth looking into for asuka! the first app round closes on may 5th, and there's a shinji and kaworu on reserve. depending on how well the run goes with my first character, a kaji might be in the cards for the next app round as well.

I'm a bit late, forgive me! I just saw you are offering Asuka, so i couldn't resist, and I'd like to offer you asgardeventide. Currently we have Kaworu (original anime), Shinji (original anime) and Asuka (rebuild) there, and we would *love* the original Asuka as well c:

Asgard is a medium (to fast, during events) paced game. It has an on going plot, with regular events each month that are focused on said plot, however, it also gives you room to plot your own thing. The pacing is 2 days in real life = 1 day in game, but the pacing can be pretty fast and there is a lot of boomeranging.

Oh and about the plot! Asgard is a city located in a world ruled by Norse Gods. The Ragnarok (end of the world, apocalypse) is coming and the gods are trying to prevent that by fighting off the Ice and Fire giants. At the same time, a sickness started to spread in Asgard that turned everything grey and emotionless, rendering the natives incapable of fighting against the giants. So the god's option was to bring Travelers, characters from other worlds, to help to fight the war and bring colors back to Asgard through emotions.

All characters are stripped off their powers and given new ones according to the God House they are placed in. This God House is based on the character's personality/characteristics. For example, Kaworu is in Sigyn House (the house of those who self-sacrifice for others) and has the power healing. These powers have 3 levels in total (so far) and the characters can gain a new level through interaction with other people in Asgard.
