I'm interested in finding canonmates for one on one psls. Do you have strong opinions one way or the other on AUs and canon divergence?

All for AUs or diverging from canon. Did you have something in mind you want to play?

I had a few ideas! And of course I can go into greater detail if you'd be interested. Off the top of my head I had wanted to play with the idea of a post-war canon divergence where the Survey Corps travels across the ocean to either North America or Europe (because where are we even) and finds society in the middle of the industrial revolution or even something past that because for whatever reason the world behind the Walls had been cut off for so long the world righted itself while they were effectively in an isolated environment both ways either on the part of whatever was behind the titans or the Wall Cult. Just playing from straight up canon is fine with me, too.

As for AUs I'm fine for anything that isn't completely devoted to being slice of life but otherwise modern or 'like the canon BUT-.' Recently I had played with the AU based on William Gibson's sci-fi Neuromancer where the Walls were pocketed cities called Sprawls but that veers into 'super cool hacker with fingerless gloves' bs that was pure self indulgence. Honestly, I'm open to pretty much anything and like to plan and discuss most any idea after just brainstorming the possibilities that run concurrent with shared interests.

I gotta say I'm intrigued by the idea of having the Corps go across the sea total culture shock. Would the rest of the world even know that the Walls even existed? It would be really interesting to play out discovering the world beyond that knew nothing of them, mutual ignorance of each other so to speak.

The second idea sounds really interesting as well, I'm going to look the Neuromancer up but I would like to hear more about it. Self indulgence is fun, don't worry and I like to discuss ideas as well to work out something which works for us both.

My guess would be the outside world knows about the Titans (iirc it was part of the since forgotten history that the reason other cultures ended up wherever the Walls are the was that wealthy fled on ships) was that whatever continent the Walls were discovered on (my guess would be Western Europe the exact size of all three Walls take up is as many small European countries) and that it was considered a dead, dangerous and forgotten part of the world and either whatever is behind the titans or the Wall Cult supported this in how they censored information and actively discouraged extended expeditions.

Remember that movie the Village? Yeah.

Neuromancer is p much the progenitor of modern science fiction and why things like the Matrix exist. Loooooot of cerebral bullshit and also I owe it another read through tbh. Great series. You really only need Neuromancer but its collectively known as the Sprawl trilogy. And also I'd love to do an AU of any flavor be it futuristic or something more modern I'm never one to turn down an idea. I loved that movie, damn I need to watch it again. Encountering a world coming from that dead and dangerous world will the next mission of the Survey Corps most likely- when there are no Titans they won't just sit on their hands. Erwin always had his theories why extended expeditions were discouraged but to see the proof will be something else for him.

That sounds like an amazing AU tbh, I'm all for futuristic AUs, modern stuff is always great and I've always wanted to do a modern AU psl.

Oh my god the creepy smile. Levi will be seeing a lot of that creepy smile when his eyes light up and you know there is something just not right about this guy at all. Ahem. Yes, he's got the creepy smile thing down.
