offering:

Fingon | Tolkien

preferences:
>Slow to medium; small to medium. Prime requirement is a slow but steady flow of the game, nothing that erupts into action three times a month and is nearly dead during the rest. Due to living in Europe I also need a backtag-friendly game.
>I want to play canon Fingon. No AU; mem-loss is fine if characters regain their memories quickly.
>no power-loss, but if it exists that's no deal breaker
>no massive plot/developing setting/etc that needs to be kept up with, but I'd rather not have a terribly SOL setting either.
>I'm fine with him being a LCW, as long as the game is friendly on them.
>I already looked at and decided against Hollyheights, Amatomnes, Eachdraidh, Asgard.

Maybe give [community profile] warforged a shot? It does have an overarching plot, but it's a slow enough pace that it's pretty easy to keep up with what's going just from announcements on the OOC comm.

Hm... I had a short look and it looks like a really complicated setting for someone who isn't used to that kind of canons (?). Is it really that complicated, or does it only seem like that to me?

I've found it's basically as complicated as you want to make it. I've never played WoW but I don't have problems getting along in the game; essentially all you need to know is "there's demons attacking and everyone distrusts/hates you and everyone else because of it" and you can run from there. Plus because Warforged is explicitly an AU to Warcraft/WoW canon, even though there's WoW OCs who're somewhat familiar with their world's version of events, they don't really have any noteworthy advantage over anyone else.

And while some of the game's setting info is a bit infodump-y a lot of it hasn't actually come into play yet and is physically distant enough that it doesn't currently affect things short of medium to large-ish plots. It's, well, kind of like an MMO in that regard--when you're new you start out interacting with things in the newbie area and then as you go you can branch out from there as you get the hang of things/your character is so inclined. There's a bigger world out there but you don't have to take it in all at once or anything.

What if I just mentioned every other game that I'm in because I love you and your Fingon, huh?

[community profile] paradisa is probably too SOL for you, but you should poke at [community profile] ataraxion. And I just apped Haleth at [community profile] box_network. But I mean literally just apped, so I can't say much about it yet, lmao.

I've actually been looking at Atarax before! My main confusion lies with the pace - on one hand the AC requirement seems low, on the other hand there is a good number of posts per day and I've seen people struggle with AC. What would you say that the pace is?

haha yeah, the pace is kind of confusing. The AC is low and how fast it is honestly depends on how much you involve yourself, so I've been able to take it pretty easy while I've been working on my heath issues. But over all I'd say medium, possibly getting a little faster during events. But, at least in my experience, people are so fabulous about backtagging that you don't have to be a speedster to get involved. I live off of backtags.
