I took a peek at the FAQ post and it looks like both going to school and having a part-time job at the same time is plausible! There's at least one younger character that does that and then I think a few of the older characters hold two jobs, so you should be good to go.

Obviously input from the actual mods is probably more helpful but. Come to us. 8(
