forestcovered would be an excellent place for your characters! (And my compliments for playing them.) We fit the requirements - slow-to-medium pace, backtag friendly, our AC is 20 comments monthly and our app is fairly average, and no mandatory HMD.

Forest Covered, loosely based on Spirited Away, is a slice-of-life-with-plot-elements game where characters sign a contract to work on a resort island for spirits. In exchange they'll have a wish of theirs granted once they've paid off their debt. They lose their memory of their names, and are given work names to use instead, but they can regain their names later.

I'd been looking around the comm, wondering if it might be a good place for Wil: the version in headspace perked up his pointy, goatish ears at the sound of it, and it sounds like the perfect place for him (also, trying to steal a Necronomicon and nearly causing the Elder Gods apocalypse has to be a helluva a debt to pay).

HOWARD P LOVECRAFT I WANT TO ENABLE YOU INTO ENTRANCEWAY SO BAD BUT I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'D FANCY THE AC. It's not hard, it's just the way the mods have described it makes it a bit daunting.

entranceway is a slow to medium paced game that speeds up occasionally during Events. It's super backtag friendly and the main part of the App process is writing out their canon history. There are no mandatory HMDs, and the AC is super easy here I'll simplify it instead of the Mod's hubba bubba.

It takes place every two months, and is

One (1) Open post on the network or one (1) open log on the logging community.

Plus

Four (4) Threads in posts or logs other than your own that get up to seven (7) comments from your character.

Closed logs that have seven (7) comments from your character can be used as well.

Once again, you've got two months to get that, it's super easy.

It takes place in a twisted version of Wonderland and has events that range from horror to humourous to SoL, it's rather fun!

I've been thinking of sending Howie Phil to Entranceway (especially since I have his evil, sexier twin lurking in headspace as well: he'd cause havoc in the Mirror 'Verse), and the AC sounds better than I thought. I'll give it a go once I get my head on straight. Thanks!

genessia might be a good fit - it's a slow-paced game that is really friendlytowards backtagging. There're no apps, and the AC's just a check-in every few months. Whilst there is an HMD meme, it's not mandatory.
