A stranger asks you a question and it made sense at the time so you answer with yes. The next thing you know, you're on a ship called the Neheda, and a vocoder-like voice is warning you about the toxicity levels of the air.

Wait, back up.

Here's what happened: you have been consigned to the Cosmic Demolition Crew to work for the Neheda Crew, and depending on the disclosure level they've assigned you, you're a bit stuck on the crew. You are now a CDC recruit, and your mission (which you may or may not have accepted knowingly) is to help them in their job: destroying worlds. The CDC (disease-related references unintended) once stood for Cosmic Development Contractors; they've obviously shed the last two words since they changed management a few... er, very long time ago. No one's really sure. The important part is you're now on payroll, and until your contract is fulfilled, you're not going anywhere.

It sounds worse than it really is. Your status of employment to the CDC guarantees the safety of your home world from the wrecking ball of the CDC — you're actually kind of a hero. The CDC will also guarantee you one material object of your choice — or a person of choice. They'll pay you what you want, as long as you deliver. And you have to deliver, or so help you, they'll take your paycheck out of your home planet. So buckle up and hang on, or whatever the phrases are where you're from.

You've got some planetary destruction ahead of you.

AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER/LEGEND OF KORRA
■ WANTS: EVERYONE AND ANYONE, particularly any of Korra's crew, the Aang gang, Tenzin, Lin Bei Fong, any villains, Tonraq, the cabbage merchant, literally everyone.

■ COMMENTS: What better setting for characters from a Nick cartoon than one with hopeless genocide and slaughter? Korra will be your best friend. Unless you're Amon or Tarrlok or The Red Lotus or something like that.

So I read the premise two times and I still don't see it...

What kind of game is it? SOL? horror? Is there an overarching plot aside from the world-destroying company or are characters left to their own devices? Thanks.

Hi, this is just my take on it, but I'd say world destroying and the moral/ethical conflict that comes with that plays a big role. The game is very structured so there's little room to be left to their own devices during missions. I'd describe it as an action/sci fi game. Definitely not SOL and usually not horror.

At the moment, the crew is held in a sort of holding cell due to IC developments so they're, yeah, being left to their own devices, but missions get pretty busy and there's always something the characters are assigned to do. There's an overarching plot that's still largely mysterious but the mods have said that we're now moving toward the more metaplotty part of the game, for example, an npc was recently killed by another officer for accusedly plotting against the CDC and that seems likely to be a catalyst for bigger things to come.
