I don't believe we have any castmates for your folks, but perhaps you could give thefarshore a look? It's a brand new game as of just this month, so it's only started so far. It's based on the series Noragami, but no canon knowledge is required!

Characters can be apped in as gods or shinki - dead spirits who have lost all memories of their lives and who act as tools for the gods. So, sorta memory-loss, but only if you choose the shinki option. Characters are paired up either randomly or by player request, and from then on they can take on quests - or rather, go around answering prayers - to gain followers and so on! It's still not too terribly fast due to the small size - I'd say it's about a medium with the current crew!

Oh, the pairing system sounds really unique. Thanks for the comment, I'll give it a look and see if I think I'll be a good fit.
