The Confession Dial is a pan-fandom game that will open as soon as we have enough characters. It is based on an element from the TV Series Doctor Who (but no Doctor Who knowledge is actually needed).

The Game centres around the premise that everyone has secrets they keep from others and everyone has that one root fear that they never want to face. In the dial, this greatest fear is made anthropomorphic. The creature is always stalking your character, trying to get them to confess their secrets. All the while the characters are trying to escape from the power of the Dial.

Most of the horror and fear inflicted on your character is psychological. Though, should the creature catch your character, they will die. Deaths function to 'reset' your character to the condition/point they were when they originally entered the dial. No canon memory loss happens and game memories do come back through various events.

I'll take a look at the game! The premise seems interesting although I have never gotten into Doctor Who.

Given that each creature/character pairing is so unique, we decided it would be best to allow the creatures to be player controlled.

No Doctor Who knowledge is necessary. It was just such an interesting premise that we wanted to see it work as a pan-fandom game.

I have a feeling forestcovered falls on the "slice of life" spectrum but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. I have a Terezi there and we also have a Karkat and there's a Dave on reserve. I'd love to see a Rose or Jade around!

I'm fine with Slice of Life for good CR. I just typically prefer plot, but not a deal breaker.

Could I get a bit more about the game itself? I believe I've looked at this game awhile ago when it first opened, but I've just recently crawled back into RP. I'm open to anything right now!

Yeah, absolutely! It's based off Spirited Away, so your character has made a pact with the Witch of the island to work in order to have some sort of wish/deal fulfilled. It's pretty open to what your character can do as a job (Rezi is a black jack dealer at the casino) or you could go the traditional Spirited Away route and have them work in the bathhouse, etc. The witch steals the character's names so they go by alternative names. No one can remember each other's lost names but that's the only element of memory loss. Everything else stays the same.

AC is 20 comments a month and this is what's one June's roster for events.

Yeah, the tdm looks a little dusty. I'm not sure if one is going up for June or not. If you need someone to tag you in the current one, however, I'd be happy to!

I've current got app plans for a non Homestuck muse atm, so it's solid I won't be considering another app until next month or so (don't wanna try to acclimate to two different games at once).

I can post to the current TDM (I would never say no to threading), but I'll try my best to watch for the next TDM too. :3

Not a game-game, but I can't really resist mentioning that onepunchdressing is a OPM dressing room that would be HAPPY to have another Genos kicking around! It's mostly memes right now, but it is a good way to connect with potential castmates to drag to games with you.

It's cool, I COMPLETELY understand being shy/anxious! I am 1000% the same way, except when it comes to the dressing room because, well. Since we're all fans of the same show, we at least have that in common, and it makes things a little easier. But hey, no pressure to join, alright? Ahaha I stopped journal RPing regularly for a few years, so it's reacclimating back into the hobby. A lot of the games I knew are gone and most of the games currently out weren't really around when I stopped (ATP is also so quiet from what I remember).

I'll definitely poke in though. Having more OPM friends would be delightful as hell.

A lot of us at the dressing room are in the same boat, actually! I stopped playing around 2011 or 2012, but I just couldn't resist Sonic's tight ass, so here I am. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Every once in a while, I see Route_29 mentioned, and I'm impressed that's still going. It was massive back in the day, I can only imagine the monster it is now. I haven't technically haven't settled on a game yet myself, but I'm intending to app to thefarshore when apps open again (they already have a Genos though, and it's they're fault I'm apping there in the first place). I'm trying to think if there's any games I know of that have other OPM players, but honestly, Genos seems to be the first character taken in most games.

Route is particularly small to be honest. It was one of the last games I participated in... The roster had gotten particularly small and I think they JUST revamped it (overhaul and new set of mods and everything) so I'm gonna root for that little game to keep chugging. I think the only other name I really see around is CnC. Everything else seems to be gone or on its last legs.

Ahaha Tbh I feel like when I do see OPM in a taken list its in pairs. I usually always see Genos and Saitama both taken on lists for the most part. Don't really see other characters outside of that.

Its probably because Genos is downright attractive. He just happens to fill my usual character type. Blonde, stupid, and can't shut up. I need excuses to drop walls of texts on people. Although I'm also very fond of Bang and Metal Bat, but Idk if I'd ever play either.

Yeah, that's... pretty much how it goes, tbh. A Genos apps, then a Saitama isn't very far behind. There are a couple people who play like Metal Bat and Garou in the dressing room, but there really isn't a lot of the extended cast. I'm the only Sonic RPer on DW that I know of, although there are a fair few on tumblr. Everyone wants to play GenoSai, although I do my best to shout at all the Saitama's I can. (There was, a while back, a Saitama and a Genos looking for a Sonic, but it was for a sex game that required smut threads annnnd that's not my thing.)

Sonic is my character type, NGL, so I get that. Loud, shouty, arrogant, and violent, just the way I like 'em. I sometimes branch out to King and Zenko, but yeah. Booty Ninja 8I

It's cool though! I am always down to play with more Genoses! Tormenting the dumb cyborg is a lot of fun! So. You know.

It was only maybe 100 characters by the time I left I think? (including characters played by the same muns). So the playerbase had definitely shrunk by the time I left. They're changing it to comm base I believe. I don't know much passed that.

I think with how few chapters OPM has, it makes it hard to really play other characters out atm. While they have enough to have a personality; they kind of lack enough back history to completely get in their head it feels like (like Tatsumaki; we have a good idea of her personality but we don't know much about her other than her sister is Fubuki). Saitama's back story was shown and Genos outright verbally vomits his story. Sonic we have a good idea and ironically, it feels like Garou has a good chunk we can get out of since he's been talked about in past tense. We also know a good amount about King.

I'm not a fan of Tumblr at all to stay on it long enough for anything, much less RP (and I also avoid sex games cuz I dont go for those).

Tbh I want to pick up Flashy Flash when he shows up more probably.

121 according the members list on the profile page. That is a much more manageable amount, compared to the 1000+ I remember it being. Having it be comm based will be so much nicer, too, IMO.

That's a very fair assessment. I guess being in the DR skews my perception a little, since we don't really worry about character history and just kind of roll with things. I did spend a long time worrying about Sonic's appability, though, since we only really know enough to get a framework, and the important stuff is conjecture (like the ninja twins oh mah gee).

I will scream at you forever if you do ever pick up Flash tho. Like I would be SO pumped, bro, I would be all over that. I want to play Ninja Twinsies so bad, it's my JAM.

I'm sure everyone was waiting for it to go comm based haha! I didn't have trouble with it being journal based, but it was much smaller by then so it wasn't swamped with new posts after new posts (Mayfield was a wild ride in comparison).

Yeah DRs and stuff is fine, but I can't imagine apping certain characters with such bare bones. At the very least, Sonic has a personality to work with and a basic back story. I think also knowing his motives as a character helps a lot ovo)b

I'm only really keeping up with the manga and not the webcomic atm, so it'll be a bit before I probably pick him up. But knowing me...I will.

I think if it was smaller, it would have been manageable, yeah, but when I played, it was SO HUGE, I just got lost after about two weeks. (I didn't last long at Mayfield either, but that was also just before it shut down for good. Man, I liked that concept a lot though. I am a sucker for horror games).

Sonic's motivations are SHOUTING AT SAITAMA TO NOTICE HIM and also BEING NOTICED BY EVERYONE AT ALL TIMES. I love him, but he's such a dweeb. But yeah, even Mumen Rider isn't really all that appable, for as wonderful as he is. Plus, Far Shore is a good place for him, since there are partial memory loss options available. Don't need to worry too much about the details of his past, that way.

That's pretty fair. I keep up with both, because I am an addict, and Sonic hasn't been in the manga for about 50 chapters. But yeah, I look forward that! And also, he's gonna be in the OVA coming out this week, so that's exciting.

Oh! And you should probably get in touch with biomechanic, OPM DR's mod! Alma used to play from DGM too, you guys have even more in common! 8D

I played Route in 2014. I'm impressed it didn't just putter out, but I guess as long as there's still a small playerbase, there's a playerbase. I played Mayfield when it was still on LJ and I think for a bit when it went to DW. So it was crazy fast.

I play an MMO and I've been looking at other series too (Bungou Stray Dogs and Boku no Hero Academia are on my lists), and I just don't have the energy to aggressively keep up with stuff since Homestuck +_+;;;

We're a very plotty horror-mystery-fantasy-adventure game with the easiest AC ("Did you do something this month? Cool.") and a generally acceptable-of-slow pace! (Do not judge by me, I'm one of the game's boomerangers, but we have a 2:1 day ratio and stuff.) It kind of has a tabletop-like aspect to it that does turn some people off? But on the whole it is a very nice little game and everyone is super friendly and so yes. Please consider us and pretend I am not late as FUCK to this ATP

I have been to Portes before though as a different character! I enjoyed it, but didn't stay long cuz my castmates i came in were flaky as fuq :,3 I don't think I would be able to sustain Kanda for a long period in Portes' settings though unfortunately :<
