Ah. Well, you probably don't have to worry about that, then - I can't think of any reason why any of the characters in FT would go back in time and stay there!

Personally, I think that whatever's going on with Natsu and Zeref, it doesn't have to involve time-travel. Natsu and Gazille have their ages listed as "unknown" in their profiles (which is weird, because Wendy was stated to be 12), and during the Luxus arc, the two of them were considered to be over 80 by Fried's barrier. They must age like normal people (seeing as Natsu's been roughly the same age as Gray, Erza, etc. during flashbacks and whatnot), but they're still much older than they look. Maybe they were originally from the time where Zeref was at the height of his power when they were little kids, and then they were frozen in time somehow? That doesn't explain why Zeref thinks that Natsu can defeat him, though...

He could, I suppose - he's made so many self-sacrifices over the course of the series that one of them might stick eventually - but I'd think it would kind of make all the drama involving him and Erza pointless if they never got closure on their relationship. That's just me, though; it could still happen, regardless of what I think.

That's okay; I always like hearing speculation about what could happen.

Maybe Gajeel knows there's a time discrepancy, but he just doesn't care? I don't recall anything being mentioned about Acnologia coming from some other dimension, unless I missed something (first we heard of it, it just showed up out of nowhere and attacked Gildartz, like the giant reptile version of Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition, and then it seemed to be drawn towards Zeref). Personally, I have a theory that Zeref's a Life or Death Dragon Slayer, (given that he absorbs life to produce life, and I recall him having visible fangs like the other Dragon Slayers) and that might have something to do with how he knows Natsu (Grandeen stated that Natsu and Wendy had met before and that it ended poorly, though neither of them seem to remember it - maybe true Dragon Slayers get reincarnated or something?). However, I could be grasping at straws here.

lol Sounds good. What's your username?

That's also a possibility. Still, it's probably best not to think too hard about it - just when you think that you have things figured out, Mashima throws another curveball into the series' chronology (ex. making it seem like Grandeen had become the elf-like healer whose name I can never spell correctly - though at least he immediately solved that one, rather than dragging it out for an arc).

I was going to tell you my AIM name, but I see you already found it. XD
