mayfield

Mayfield is a medium-paced, comm-based, Dreamwidth RPG that is known for its stunningly in-depth events, relaxed AC, and large playerbase. The game takes place in a cheery-but-sinister 1950's American town; characters are turned human, stripped of their powers upon arrival, and forced to play along with the Pleasantville vibe lest they get "droned" as punishment. They can, however, gain their powers back over time.

The OOC environment is friendly, and player-based plots are welcomed and encouraged and the mods work very hard to facilitate them. The game runs in real time.

The game has a mystery and action/horror vibe, but with sufficient slice-of-lifey downtime between events. The pace is medium on the whole, but can get pretty fast-paced during events. It's backtag friendly. Characters are housed together in 'nuclear families', meaning adult characters are assigned a spouse, and minors are assigned parents. Violence is common during events (but nothing beyond what BtVS/AtS characters are used to).
