Okay so you might be my favourite person in existence right now. I love me some Samus.

SO I HAVE THIS GAME that may or may not be right up your alley. Have you ever checked out realityshifted? It's a Smallish, slowish game that has Modplots, encourages player plots, minor horror elements (usually easy enough to ignore/opt away from if it's not your bag), and is most definitely sci-fi flavoured (not as fully-blown sci-fi as some games, mind, but flavoured). In addition, there is no power or memory loss outside of the occasional plot.

The game over all is very friendly towards LCWs and obsure characters, and it's an inverted jamjar (players can come and go from the game setting as they please - usually), so if you'd like to progress Samus through her canon, that's totally fine. Also we have the easiest AC in the history of ever.
