I'm primarily looking for games with overarching plots, especially ones where players can make a difference in, but I'll be glad to look at any recommendations.

high_seas has a Tales of the Abyss cast, and is everything in your preferences! It's a medium-paced game that has a bi-monthly activity check (about as backtag friendly as it gets in my opinion), and has a plot involving player-run pirate ships and crews involved in a war against the Royal Navy, and a search for a jewel sought by Davy Jones.

If you ever stop to think "gosh, I could really go for some slice of life", I would love to see Jade or Anise at hollyheights. Mostly Jade, mostly so we could have CR.

I can definitely offer overarching plots where players can make a difference, but what are your thoughts on AU? Also, on Pokémon?

I'm fine with AU, no particular preference either way for Pokemon (although I was in a Pokemon AU game for a time... That was pretty fun!)

We're opening up a new Pokemon AU RP, one bravenewworld, we just opened reserves and are slated to open the game on the 11th. The basic setup is it's a post-apocalyptic game, several centuries ago the Pokemon rose up and nearly wiped out humanity. Since then they've somewhat re-established themselves and are going back out into the world to explore and find more resources. Our major focus is going to be on exploration and discovery, as well as ongoing plotlines of both player and mod-driven variety. If you're interested, feel free to check us out! Directory is here.
