How is it size and pacing wise?

CH is on the small side; there are about 45-50 characters at the moment, and it's growing steadily but not explosively. Everybody is very friendly and enthusiastic though. As for pacing I'd say it's sort of medium paced? I'm a little bad at gauging this sort of thing, I'll admit, but for me personally I find I've generally got plenty to do there without being overwhelmed. Taking a glance at the log comm, which is overall a bit more active than the network comm at the moment, there've been twelve new posts in the last week, and 30 in the last month, if that's anything to go by.

Huh, that's cool. Are there events? Character driven?

It's a bit of both; we tend to pull mod run events out once every month or so and sometimes they're related to the ongoing plot arc we've got going and sometimes they're not – at the moment said plot arc is sort of an optional mystery background thing, though, since we're just getting started. There's a lot of character driven stuff; the way the setting operates gives players a lot of free rein because anything they do is as much an intrinsic part of the setting as anything that's mod mandated.

I remember eyeing it when it opened, but deciding I'd wait and see since I know Changed folded. So it's pretty steadily working, huh?

And HM yeah, complicated or no, I'm pretty sure something like that could be wrangled, honestly! I'm pretty sure there'd be people up for getting their characters involved in that kind of thing. Or depending on how you worked her backstory there could always be some kind of government-keeping-an-eye-on-her deal, or something like that.

The whole reason she's a pterosaur is because of a time machine that gets people to astral project and possess big animals somewhen else, leaving their bodies in comas for potentially their whole lives. The human era parts of her canon take place in the late nineties/early 2000, too. Something could be done with that, I'm sure.

Something could definitely be done with that – I assume you aren't at all after having her return to her human body considering the "no forced humanisation" bit there, so presumably a separate, less astral-projecty kind of time travel would be required to get her back into the present?

I wouldn't be against some humanization, part-timing it say, but it's as a pterosaur that I think Janine's the most interesting. And yeah, a more convenient method would be cool.

And yeah I can definitely understand that! And hm you could work that a variety of ways – well-intentioned but risky & experimental attempt to open a time portal to study prehistoric life; evil scientist summoning prehistoric beasts to try to use them to cause chaos; Janine accidentally gets cryogenically frozen for millions of years because comic book science... truly the opportunities are endless when you are willing to tolerate as broad an array of only vaguely scientific bullshit as mainstream superhero comics are
Mostly it'd depend on what kind of situation you'd want her to arrive in, basically!
