Aaaa Fiona! I love Fiona.

We have a small Dragon Age cast at ataraxion—Fenris here, plus Marian Hawke and Sebastian Vael—and the current lack of mages is really unfortunate. Fenris needs more people to glare at. Ax is a sci-fi horror jamjar, but my experience playing three characters who all lack any high-tech familiarity has been great, and there are a lot of opportunities for magic users to get involved!

As for your requirements: there are fewer than 200 characters, the overarching plot is a mystery to be solved both IC and OOC with major events every other month, no one minds backtagging, most of the game is on plurk, AC is five log comments or ten network comments per month, and canon updates are allowed and easy—but there's also no rule against apping from new releases, so you could probably app from Inquisition off the bat if you wanted to!
