Well, that depends on if you want to factor in the Year That Never Was, because that clearly has some specific repercussions for both of them. I mean, I'm all for taking some liberties with canon events and doing a sort of aftermath scenario, or we could go a totally different direction.

I'm always up for plotting in, around and during the Year That Never Was. It's definitely an interesting time and yeah, it had a lot of impact of them so it's pretty fun to explore. I mean we can do something in the aftermath of that whole year, maybe AU it all a little, or we could do something within it? It's a pretty open span of time so there's a lot that can be done or we can say happened.

If we were to AU it a little, would you want to say that maybe the Master didn't refuse to regenerate? Although if we went that route, then we'd have to factor in the regeneration, so maybe we could just say that Lucy never shot him. Or, instead of doing an aftermath thing, we could do something in the middle of it while he's still got control of the Valiant.

I suppose if we AUed it to perhaps him not getting shot? Like someone preventing Lucy before she manages to kill him? Then we could have them perhaps dealing with the aftermath of what happened on the Valiant and maybe going to adventures? If the Doctor can trust him that much. Plus the added torment and amusement of being locked in one place together for a long period of time. I think it probably has the most wriggle room? Like we could go a lot of places with that!

Yeah, all of that sounds great to me! So, for continuity's sake, this would be happening after Jack and Martha went their separate ways, leaving the Doctor and the Master alone on the TARDIS. I'm already laughing imagining them stuck together like that.

And I think the Doctor could be persuaded to go on adventures with the Master, but the trust thing would be an issue, at least at first. I don't think he'd be too much of a stickler about it, because company is company, even with everything that went on.

I think this has the potential to be a great starting point for a thread!

Oh God, it just can't end well for either of them. Two Time Lords should never be stuck together, especially when they squabble like an old married couple. Which these two do perfectly.

Yes, the Master will dedicate his endless boring time on the TARDIS to sweet talk the Doctor into letting him have a little freedom and a few adventures. ~~Maybe an escape.~~ I think the Doctor would appreciate having someone to see the universe with, even if said someone just wants to conquer and destroy it!
