Character Offers

As someone who's been pondering the game for a while now, I have a few questions. The premise is really neat, but ECATS games confuse the hell out of me, so:

- What's a legacy character?
- furthermore re: dropped characters, what does 'booked', 'good-ended' and 'Happy End' mean? "w.[character]" as well

You guys might want to make these kinds of definitions clearer, if only for new players who've never experienced this kind of game before.

So sorry for not seeing this earlier!

A Legacy character is a character that's been in the game for a while & has won back all their memories—but still want to play in the game, instead of dropping. They can stick around and be active, but are no longer taking a game-playing team slot. Happy/Good Ended characters are those that have gotten back all their memories and instead of sticking around, dropped either by going back to their own home, or 'elsewhere' in Aather.

The other usual drop methods—"Booked" characters are basically pulled into Sleeping Beauty's storybook to be kept safe from the Darkness. It's the standard drop. "W.[character]" is if a character drops by going off to one of the Personae (NPC's) realms—sort of an extended vacation.

The drop methods are explained on the drop page and Legacy/Happy End/etc is explained on the Happy Endings page—these are all linked from Navigation and are applicable primarily to those already in the game but I can absolutely see how it would be helpful to have it at least linked to from the Taken/Dropped page for the reference of people who are just viewing that page as their first look at things. I'll update that in the near future to make it more accessible for new people!

If you have any other questions I'm happy to answer!
