This is super late, but FAYE! Cowboy Bebop is one of my all-time favorite animes. Have you considered carvaka? It's a post-apocalyptic sex game centered on using the powers of belief to rebuild and restore the world. I'd call it more medium-paced with two events per month. There's a definite overarching plot involving some sort of struggle between two factions that we know of (so far), the Hedonists who are the main NPCs who live on belief and lies, and the Historians who worship the Truth. Some of the events can edge into horror territory, so glad to see you're up for that.
