One hundred years ago, the Earth suffered a plague unlike any it has ever faced. It was then that an alien virus was introduced to the environment of Earth that mutated quickly, resembling the rabies virus. Unlike the rabies virus, it wasn't fatal; the virus morphed people into rabid, hungry creatures that many thought were only the things of movies - something very akin to zombies. The virus was known as many things throughout the world, "the Pestilence", "the Zombie Virus", "Hell on Earth", but what the doctors classified it as was the Ira Virus. It devastated the planet and lead to its ultimate abandonment. Space stations were created in haste where people fled to avoid the virus.
Now, one hundred years later, humans that have fled to the stars are trying to reseed the Earth, test if it is inhabitable again. The space station has started a series of experiments, pulling others from dimensions - vast and different than the one inhabited by this version of Earth - and sending them down as trial runs. Why these "scientists" choose who they choose to send down to the Earth is a mystery and characters will have no actual recollection of being in space, how they ended up on the dropship or in their pods sent down to Earth, the only thing they'll really know is that this is certainly not where they belong.
Of course, aside from the infected that lay dormant or the ones that stayed active, it seems the Earth wasn't completely abandoned, and over the years the few that survived did so through anarchy and chaos. Many of them could be considered bandits or murders, becoming just as alien and violent as the infected that torment them.
There are questions that linger at the forefront of your brain. Who sent you here? Where are you? And what is Project Oasis? It's understandable, expected really, but whoever is pulling the strings from space either doesn't want to answer or can't.

Re: PROJECT OASIS
(Anonymous) 2016-02-25 10:20 am (UTC)(link)Do people with ~special powers~ keep them, or are they nerfed? Or does it depend on whether or not it would, let's say, allow them to survive without food, or just enhance combat ability?
How fast is the game? I can see the AC is very relaxed, but does that mean it barely crawls or can it pick up sometimes?
Thanks!

Project Oasis is very new therefore it is still finding its footing with regards to pace, however so far it has been shown to be slow to medium paced and very back-tag friendly.
Hope this helps!
