LOGSNETWORKOOC

You awaken to what you believe could be the worst possible headache you've ever felt -- the blinding white that surrounds you is definitely not helping matters, either.

After what feels like several long minutes (which is really nothing more than a few seconds), you're able to manage looking around. You note that you're in a room of all white. A quick glance tells you that the room contains...well...nothing more than a bed, chair, and 5ft x 5ft box. This isn't where you remember falling asleep--

--actually, when did you fall asleep?

Well, the strange metallic taste in your mouth--or, more importantly, the odd buzzing in your ears--is doing nothing to clue you in.

Anyway, back to what you woke up with. As far as you can tell, the most important item in the box appears to be the device. And, according to a rather cheerful voice, it seems to be the only way out of here. Not only that, but it says it's the only way you'll be able to transport from city-to-city. First things first, however...

What's with the incredibly strange thing attached to your ear?! No matter how hard you fight to remove it, all you're managing to do is make your head hurt more...

After making your way out to some unique-looking hallways, you come to a stomach-sinking realization. You're, apparently, in a mostly abandoned insane asylum. As you make your way into an incredibly large and empty white room, the device speaks up. Loudly. It seems pretty set on suggesting three numbers:

ONE, TWO, or THREE?

What do these numbers even mean? Well, no matter how many times you ask, the stupid thing's completely silent as it awaits...something...

We are a panfandom, mostly horror game that accepts nearly all levels of experience. The plots will range from horror to complete "crack" (AKA comical). We will allow all levels of violence, and sex is going to be permitted (though, only with a proper rating of logs).

There will be horror events that are mandatory, though your level of participation will depend on your preferences. Events will be held, mostly, at random; they will be announced two weeks ahead of time on plurk and in the OOC community!

It takes a few seconds for everything to register. Your memories and your vision are hazy. You remember the faint whisper of voices, the glaring white pristine tiles of a lab and the cold press of metal against your back. Your eyes flutter; they drift back and forth between sleep and consciousness but you find focusing on anything is difficult. The sedative they've pumped in you makes you far too calm. The next time you wake up, you are in a different space. It's an enclosed metallic chamber that lifts itself up. You feel something is very different. You notice that there are a series of ports decorating your spine. You survey the area and find that the room is unfamiliar, empty save for a table. Placed on the table, is a monitor and a few of your possessions. As you make your way towards it, the monitor flickers on and it plays a message:

"Listen to me for a sec, you guys are the only hope we've got left."

NEW AGE MODERN TOLKIEN-BASED RPG!

New Age Tolkien RPG is currently seeking new players for a Silmarillion / Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit RPG set in modern day London. Any and all canon characters accepted, no matter how obscure. And of course, old favourites are welcome as well. The game is hosted on Dreamwidth at New Age RPG. This is a fairly slow-paced, easy-going game -- no activity checks, very easy application! And if you're looking for a place to do some voice-finding, we're open to that too.

Premise

The Dagor Dagorath is approaching, and unbeknownst to the inhabitants of Aman, the Valar’s power to keep the Straight Road hidden has greatly diminished. As such, they have allowed that any Elves who wish to can travel back to Middle-earth. Men have long since forgotten the existence of Elfkind and thus do not recognise them as such, although there may be other creatures who do.

Some are suspicious of this sudden policy reversal, others are simply glad for the chance of adventure. Meanwhile, supporters of Morgoth and Sauron, old and new, are gathering in secret…

THE ODDS | a survival reality show OR IS IT

[personal profile] itsjustagame 2014-11-30 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
IT'S A DOG-EAT-DOG WORLD OUT THERE

Do you have what it takes to face the odds and survive? This is the tagline for a new survival reality show, The Odds. You might have seen it advertised somewhere on the net, on TV, on a billboard. Maybe you took an interest in it, maybe you didn't, but either way, you've been chosen.

Letters have been sent out to 30 lucky people who will be the first contestants on this show. The reward for beating the odds and being the last man standing? A cash prize of $500,000, completely tax free. Who can argue with free money? No matter who, what, or where you are, you've signed up and are ready to live in the wilderness for 20 days with nothing but the clothes you left with.

But not all is as it seems. Your host, Ivan, seems cheery enough, even if he also stresses a little too much about staying inside at night. And, of course, there's your ragtag group of misfits. If the wilderness doesn't get to you, then surely they will.

THE ODDS

premisesettingfaqreservesapplications

The Odds is a survival-horror game based on the faux reality show, Siberia. The Odds relies on the natural distrust of strangers stuck together in a small setting to feed into their fears of, not the wild around them, but the beasts inside the people they live with. Characters are encouraged to do whatever it takes to be the last man standing, even if what they must do might just be a bit unsavory. Players should take note that the game contains disturbing psychological themes, violence, gore, and death; if you are not prepared to maim or kill your character, this might not be for you.

The Odds is slightly different from other RPs as it only lasts about 80 days, or close to 3 months if time gets fudged up. This is considered a 'season' of the show and once the season is over and a character/player is declared the winner, another season goes into planning. Upon initial opening of the 'season', 30 characters (or 30 players, whichever comes first) will be chosen to play in the game, at which time apps and reserves will be closed for good. If a player quits or a character dies, another player/character cannot enter the game until the season has been finished. There are very few special circumstances surrounding this and will be taken on a case-by-case basis.

RESERVES and APPLICATIONS are open!
We are currently waiting to get a line-up of 30 characters before the game can begin. If have any questions, please ask away on the FAQ or contact this mod account!

Cyclicality, an ATLA/LoK panfandom/AU game

[personal profile] cyclicalitymods 2014-12-01 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Cyclicality, based on the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra @ [community profile] cyclicality
Cyclicality is a new, community-based game based on the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, set after the third book of The Legend of Korra. Players have the option to AU their characters to fit the setting or to have their character remain OU and pulled in via the Spirit World. Interactions are meant to be mainly face-to-face, and although the Avatar world is pretty huge, things are shifting to allow for fast-travel to select locations so characters are trapped and suffocated within the city. In the latest plot, spirits caused some problems in the city, but triads caused even bigger problems. Republic City truly is a magnet for trouble, but if the characters work together, they might manage a peaceful life! ...Maybe!

Characters, if apped AU, will have the opportunity to app in as having the heritage of one of the four nations or as being born in Republic City. Players have the choice of making them a bender or non-bender, although subsets and advanced subsets have a few prerequisites in order to be used. For characters who are apped as OU, they will be stripped of any powers they have. There are two plots planned in the foreseeable future which will enable characters to either recover their lost abilities or to acquire bending instead.

The three year gap leaves a lot of room for plotting. Depending on what characters do, the game can end up as a parallel to book 4 of The Legend of Korra, or it can become something different. There are all sorts of roles to fill, from Equalists in hiding to Red Lotus sleeper agents. What role will your character fill? Will they try and make a difference? To better the world and move it forward?

Game Size: Roughly 40 characters
Pace: Slow; Medium during plots
Atmosphere: Players have the opportunity to participate in plots or to have their characters avoid the trouble spots; it's a big world, after all.

Reserves have recently closed but will reopen on Saturday, December 20th at 12:01AM EST.
Applications are currently open and will close on Thursday, December 4th at 12:01AM EST.
