The Game, In a Nutshell!

☀A Victorian-esque, steampunk influenced city surrounded by horrifying magical fog that messes with a character's head. Also includes a low-tech medieval-esque village, an underground city of vice, a pocket dimension full of imported locations and monsters, and an island dedicated to your law and order needs.

anemoi is a panfandom, community-based memory loss jamjar set in the city of Sirocco and the outlying wilderness. When characters show up, they remember nothing but their names, and are taken to a lab where they are made government employees and tasked with finding gems called anemoi to bring to them for processing. To further encourage finding anemoi, each anemoi processed restores a small portion of the finder's memories.

But where are these anemoi? Out in the wilderness. They won't be found close to the city, and the farther out one goes, the more dangerous the wilderness becomes. There are all sorts of monsters out there -- including monsters from worlds represented in the game. Characters are encouraged to band together to form parties to explore the wilderness, and trips can be handwaved or logged in the comm or on AIM.

And on that note, each character occasionally gets a regain. These regains can even be put towards bringing in world mechanics from characters' home worlds. So far, we have magic from both the Fire Emblem (Elibe) and Guilty Gear worlds, plus the Band system from Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, among other things.

Luceti is a large, journal-based game (with a really friendly player base) that runs at a medium pace which picks up around events. Everyone is stuck in a village together and being held by an organization called the Malnosso, and there's an overarching plot which you can ignore or get involved in at your leisure. Oh, did I mention you get these adorable little wings?

Unfortunately apps will be closing at midnight tonight EST and will be opening again on March 1st! In the mean time, Luceti has a test-run community,

trainingwings, where you can try out a character in Luceti's setting before you officially app them!

The setting is just after the end of the first Wizarding War. Voldemort was just defeated by an infant mere months ago and his supporters– SOME of his supporters– are being arrested. But for those that are slipping through the cracks, there is still tension and distrust within the community, especially from those who lost loved ones in the course of the war. It is still hard to determine where the loyalties of certain players lie, and no one yet feels completely comfortable speaking the name of You-Know-Who aloud.

But in the meantime, YOU'VE got a Transfigurations paper due, and 'A hippogriff ate my homework' isn't going to cut it.

Sorting Hat Roleplay at Dreamwidth is a small community-based, panfandom AU RPG set in the Harry Potter world, and mainly slice-of-life focused. You can apply as either a Student or a Teacher- Students are ages 11-17 (de-aging is a possibility within reason, however!) and Teachers are generally a bit older than that.

We are also a very player-friendly game, and highly encourage player in-put and discussions about anything in relation to the game! So if you consider joining at all, feel free to approach us with any questions you might have; and if you do join the game, we definitely want your thoughts and ideas, so don't be shy on that.

Ao no Kiseki and Zero no Kiseki characters can also be apped and would be welcome.

If you need any help apping from this series, feel free to ask! We can definitely help with icons, filling in backstories, providing game script for the first game, etc. Heck, I'll even write the history for you if you need it because I know there isn't a good wiki for this.

-Medium pace (about 10 posts a day or less on average, a bit faster during events), backtagging is loved and encouraged.

About the Game:

Maison De Portes is a pan-fandom survival horror/mystery game. The potential for death and harm to come to your characters is almost guaranteed. The game is prose, though we now have an IC audio function that allows for limited action tags, with a very easy activity check. We have multiple story paths, with endings to be decided by the actions of the characters. The game is slow to mid paced, fairly small, with lots of chances for characters to work together to solve the situation they find themselves in. We are very backtag friendly and very willing to work around schedules, we feel that RP should be fun, not an additional job. Apps and reserves are currently open! About the game: Mayfield is a comm based horror-mystery game. You find your self in 1950's America, the “perfect” happy little town Mayfield. Being placed in a house with people you don't know, powers taken away and maybe even having a job you've never done before you can try and uncover what the heck is going on. Or take a more laid back take and play up the day to day life aspects.

witchesreign is a very small, laid back game set in the FF8 world. No knowledge of the game is necessary--I myself have not played it and found it very easy to get into the swing of.

Your characters have been brought to the world of FF8, where they are sent to Balamb Gardens, a military school where they choose their specialization and train to combat the Sorceresses of the world.

It is comm based and allows for a canon character, and one AU of them. You can also play your character as having been there for some time already. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

What we are:

We are a small, plot heavy game set in an interdimensional rebellion against a colonialist empire that's threatening your dimension. This is a multifaceted conflict, with a lot of room for moral ambiguity and intrigue. We have a focus on taking on the antagonists in a variety of ways that allow all characters to make a difference to the plot, from the completely mundane to the superhuman.

Why you should join us:

-Plot. Plotty plotty plot plot. And it's a plot your character's actions change. What they do decides whether whole dimensions are free or conquered.

-Friendliness to obscure canons and original character: No matter where your character comes from, they will recieve CR and have the chance to make a difference to said plot.

-Flexible, democratically elected and accesible mods: Our mods are elected by vote of all current players. We also vote on what event/mission/plot to take on next.

-Characters may come voluntarily or involuntarily to the setting: Some characters are sucked into the setting. However if you choose you may instead have your character be recruited into the cause from their home dimension.

-Room for villains and morally ambiguous characters: We love our villains! The especially evil or mercenary characters (or characters who genuinely believe the Empire is in the right) may choose to be agents/informants for the antagonists.

-Longevity: we've been going almost a year and a half

-Manageable pace

What we are not:

-A jamjar: While it is difficult for your character to return home, they may leave the setting.

-An action or sex game: While sex and violence do happen, they are not the central focus of the plot. That is not to say, however, that you can't do those things within the setting!

-A crack game: While there's plenty of humor in this game, it tends to be more dry, less YOU HAVE BEEN TURNED INTO A KITTEN ON A SEGWAY. Think more The Boondocks and Hitchiker's Guide, less Ren and Stimpy.

SENGOKU OTOME: MOMOIRO PARADOX @ AMATOMNES

AMATOMNES is an 18+ sex game set on the lush island of Atia and ruled by the Goddess of the same name. Characters are expected to participate in sex every two weeks at latest in order to keep the collars they arrived with from choking them. Curses appear once every month or so in order to help characters along, or to hinder them in other cases. Looking for a place to put your warlord in awkward potions? This just might be the one for you!

Taken Characters included include Oda Nobunaga, Takeda Shingen, and Akechi Mitsuhide with a Hideyoshi on reserve We want every last character from this series, but Shingen in particular would love to continue her rivalry with Uesugi Kenshin.

If icons are needed I will personally make icons for any character that is applied for or reserved!

Mayfield is a large, medium-to-fast paced horror game set in the ~~god awful~~ pleasant 1950s American suburb of Mayfield that wants ~~to do horrible things to you~~ you to live happily with your brand new family. Characters awaken in "their" house with the only connection to the life they lived prior to arriving in the roleplay being their memories. Characters get an assigned household and other PCs as "family" and items and powers can be regained throughout their time there. OOC, it's a pretty chill game, the AC is a breeze, and it has a good balance of silliness to even out the horror and drama in-game.

TALES OF SYMPHONIA
Currently we have a smallish cast of Lloyd, Colette, Kratos, Zelos, and Emil! And you know what would be cool? EVEN MORE. People we want include:

Marta, Richter, Martel, Yuan, Tenebrae, Genis, Raine, Sheena, Presea, Regal, Botta, and you know what pretty much anyone else you want to throw into the ring.

BASICALLY, EVERYBODY WILL BE LOVED. OOCly, at least.

IN GENERAL: Soul Campaign is a middle-to-large community-based game set in the Soul Campaign universe, though players aren't required to know anything about the series to app. (Exhibit A: me.) The plot revolves around a war against the Soul Eater witches, and new players lose their innate powers but become living weapons or meisters able to wield said weapons. Meisters and weapons can partner up, and it's generally a fun system and good for CR! The AC (two instances of threads in which you've made seven comments and/or logs in which you've made three comments) is pretty doable too, from my experience.

While the game is currently on LJ, it'll be moving over to Dreamwidth at the beginning of February before the app cycle. Reserves are open, and applications are reviewed mid-February so there's still a while left! The application might be a little intimidating, but the beta system allows you to request for someone to look over your app (including future cast!) for help. We've also got a testdrive meme and a go-to post for questions going on, so if you want to test the waters feel free to hit it up!

Anemoi is a memory loss community-based RP in which characters start out losing most of their memories (save for their name and whatever counts for general knowledge to the character, e.g., the general geography of their home country and whatnot). Confusion, angst, and/or shenanigans may ensue and it can be an interesting way to explore certain characters! More information can be found here.
