That sounds like a pretty good fit for themainframe. It's power loss, but characters keep their memories and gain a digimon partner of their very own. There's a plot set to span at least two years, characters have a home base town but are free to roam the digital world as they wish (and can afford), can get into fights with wild digimon, and while some of the events are just things that run through on their own, all of the plot ones have a chance for characters to influence. Several of the original Chosen Children are in play as NPCs and, while they aren't as out there as PCs, they are available for interacting with personally.

If you're okay with power loss and humanization, themainframe is a medium paced, backtag-friendly game based on Digimon. There's an overarching plot that's planned to take at least two years and is a mix of slice of life and action/adventure. There's two or more events every month and usually a bit of plot in at least one of them. Characters also get their very own digimon partner to help them survive the more action-y aspects!

Anyway yes! I would be beside myself if you joined revenance_rpg! Revenance is based on Kingdom Hearts 3D, though you don't need to be familiar with KH to play. May I suggest afterliving? It's a comm-based game that varies between slow and medium pace, depending on event. It's set literally in the Afterlife... which happens to be a modern type high school. The purpose of that is to let teens who did not get to have a good youth or had major angst in their lives find peace - not that the characters agree with this plan.

I think something like that might be pretty interesting for Grantaire and also ngl I just would love to see him around.
