Almost anybody off my muselist, really. I'm kind of just game hunting in general as opposed to looking for a game for a specific character.

Preferences:

✔ Dreamwidth only
✔ Any pace is fine provided it's not super slow
✔ At least some power retention (if the premise is intriguing enough though I can go for a complete power nerf)
✔ Memory loss/AU/Horror are a-okay
✔ Backtag friendly

- Castmates would be cool but are not necessary

✘ Super plot-heavy games (Some level of plot is preferred, I'd just rather not be doing all plot all the time)
✘ Complicated or high AC requirements (20-30 comments is about as high as I'll go)
✘ Sex games (adult-themed is okay but nothing with sex requirements)

would undergrounds be your sort of jam? AU, admittedly, but it's nicely balanced between factional plot and character stuff right now and there's a lot of flexibility for AC and creativity with powers - it's modern fantasy in london, supernatural creatures, etc.

we don't have most of your canons but we do have a lone canon warrior from homestuck?

Thanks for the suggestion, but undergrounds isn't really what I'm looking for, sorry. While I'm okay with AU games, I'm kind of picky about them.

I'm here to tell you about the lovely game heyfreemagic! It's an adventure genre game, where characters are recruited by a light god, given magic powers, and thrown in a city being attacked by shadow monsters!

The game's pretty new and small, so it's a little on the slow side, but we're recruiting to help it grow, and that's where you can help.

I'm playing Greg here. He's very out of depth, and boy seeing Steven would help him keep it together. And also tear him apart because augh this place is dangerous. Also, personally, I'm a DR fan too, so it'd be wonderful if you gave us a look!

We have Chiaki Nanami from Super Dangan Ronpa 2 at cosmographia who would love any cast mates! Cosmos is a game actually inspired by Steven Universe, where characters arrive in a town similar to Beach City called Waverly Bay to find they've somehow become a Gem! Each character starts with one power upon arrival and gains a new power during each monthly plot event! These can be the character's original powers or completely new abilities. I'd say we're around medium-paced right now and VERY backtag friendly!

I know, it's hard, so many games have one already. I guess you could say that his presence in games seems universal.

Stevennnnnnn (or dangronps, those are cool too) Since you're okay with AU, maybe give bravenewwworld a look? It's an AU Pokémon game where the player characters can bond with Pokémon and have Pokémon abilities thesmelves, so even though canon powers don't remain intact you can recreate them within the flavor of the game.

I have no castmates to offer you, unfortunately, but it's 10 comments/month AC and while there is an overarching plot, there's also plenty of time in the meantime to just have adventures/hang out/ generally do your own thing. People are also okay with backtagging forever; it's basically just a really chill game and I'd love to see you there!

I've actually kind of missed being in a Pokémon game but didn't want to go back to Route, so I'll definitely give this a closer look! I know a few people on plurk who play here i've just...never actually bothered to look into it beyond "that one pokémon au game".

About how fast would you say "chill" is exactly? I'm not looking for super fast or anything, but if a game is really slow moving I tend to lose interest no matter how much I like the premise.

You can pretty much go at whatever pace is best for you and people will keep tagging - I usually get at least one tag per thread per day from people, usually more. If you want to go faster, plenty of people are around who like going faster; if you miss a few days that's cool too. There's usually 3-4 new posts a week (unless there's an event - then everyone's tagging the event log) and lots of mingle posts where people tag out all over the place.

...one other unrelated thing I really like about it is that everyone has really fun Pokémon. You can "bond" with 1-2 Pokémon a week (depending on a few factors) and if you ask, the mods will write up a little personality blurb. I've gotten things like "Vulpix is overly proud of her beautiful tails" and "Wooper likes to sing and dance in the rain - he thinks there should be a play about that"....

...oh my god that's so cute. I love little fun details like that, that's fantastic. This game has pretty much jumped to the top of my partner and I's list. We're both going over the pages now and talking about it so you might see us there with Steven and Connie or some combination of our various Dangans. Not 100% sure yet because it looks like we have quite a bit of reading ahead of us but this sounds like pretty much everything we were looking for mechanics-wise.

Awesome, glad to hear it! It's a really fun game - a good mix of silly stuff like the Pokémon blurbs (...and most of what happens when there aren't events) and darker adventure-type plot twists when Big Plot Events go down (but these are spread out). If you have any questions at all while you're looking things over I'm happy to answer them - there's also a AU Planning post where you can ask for tips/established CR and a Test Drive to give the setting a try.

But yeah this is basically "fun details: the game". With Pokémon.
