Paradisa is a world of perfect beauty, yet no paradise is without flaw. The nature of Paradisa is to draw those from other worlds into itself; that is how it survives. It gives these forced immigrants a place to live — a beautiful, luxuriant castle with endless floors and chambers, turrets and spires. The inhabitants of the castle can have anything their hearts desire, and furthermore, they cannot die. There is a price to be paid, however, for endless bounty. Upon arriving in Paradisa, everyone has something precious stripped from them, torn away irrevocably by the darkness that lies at the heart of paradise. The road to Paradisa only leads in one direction, so be welcome, and, as always, be wary that things are never as they seem.
◆ Multifandom jamjar with sandbox elements set in a magical wish-granting, soul-devouring, sentient castle.
◆ Characters lose something upon arrival — a memory, an ability, an item, etc.
◆ Community-based and comment spam friendly, with a logs community for third-person prose.
◆ Slow to medium paced; sometimes medium to fast during plots.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-27 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)Re: THE BORGIAS
Anyone playing him would be thrown off the deep-end into dramaland resulting from some two years of history and conflict between Lucrezia and Ezio, as well as with Stephanie Brown (Ezio's close friend) and Joshua (Lucrezia's lover). It would be super fun to have a Cesare who's game to play out all these things but --and this is a really big but-- I'd rather not have a Cesare who comes in to stir things up and then disappear after 1-2 months, which would leave Lucrezia reeling and pretty much beyond repair. She's still recovering from his departure from the game some months back, even if she doesn't generally show it, but she really is still trying to find her footing again. So this goes back to the whole not wanting a Cesare who comes and goes like the wind.
Lastly, Lucrezia has grown in-game to start thinking that maybe freedom means choosing a path for herself and not allowing her family dictate her every step. As opposed to in the series where she had almost no friends to trust outside her family, she is starting to discover a few here and perhaps even people she can love. Of course Cesare will always be her one true love, her soulmate, but if one comes in expecting me to play out only the C/L fluff without conflict and a tug-o-war playing out from Lucrezia's side, then they'll be sorely disappointed.
Having said all that, I would never stop anyone from applying to play him in

(Anonymous) 2013-08-28 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)Anyone who is apping a castmate, particularly one with such close cr to a player already in game, should really be considering their fit for it long-term and intend to play for a considerable period of time. Cesare is definitely a character who would cause a lot of disruption merely by his presence.
Personally, the tug of war aspect sounds fantastic to me, though I'm already in a game which is taking up a lot of my time and I originally asked more out of curiosity than looking for somewhere else to play. My focus is right now is not to become a "gone like the wind" Cesare, like the one that you're trying to avoid in Paradisa, so I should really be sticking to my one game right now!
Thank you for answering my question so nicely!
Re: THE BORGIAS
And yes, I don't think my sentiment is really that unique when it comes to really close castmates, especially since Lucrezia and Cesare are so obsessive and dependent on each other that there's no way his presence wouldn't turn her world upside down, whether in a fantastic or terrible way.
That said, if you'd like to try him out and play with me and the Paradisa peeps, we have a Fourth Wall Meme up! I gave my reasons above for having such mixed feelings about Cesare (I LOVE AND I HATE) but I know my fellow muns in game are itching to play with him, so be warned that you'll find yourself flooded with awesome tags from them if you pop in
which is less a warning than an invitation, really;)
