I'd suggest the_campus myself. While it's technically a dressing room (no apps, no AC), it's one that tends to be run very hands-on by the mods with some restrictions in characters to make sure that none of the really bad ones get in. The mods themselves are also amazingly friendly, most of the characters currently in-game tend to be interesting, and pretty much all the players are chill too.

On top of that, the game has monthly events to keep things from getting too stale, and the mods occasionally drop hints about the backstory (or add new things). It might not be your thing if you need a game that offers a whole bunch for you to do without making it yourself, but I'd suggest trying it anyway if it interests you even a little!

The only problem there might be is that it does tend to move very slowly, and can come to a stop for a few days if people aren't feeling in a posting mood (or already have too many of their posts on the first page). But that makes it so that backtagging is not only friendly, but pretty much common.


To address the specific "canonmate" thing... I myself am a slow tagger (mostly for life/sickness reasons), but I wouldn't mind dropping Rock here into in too if you felt like joining. I'll have to dig up the comics again to get a refresher, though!

I have a Naruto AU game over at sunshineverse I can offer! We're pretty small, no T&B people at all, we have actual missions as part of the plot, and a maybe war on the horizon in game. We mostly have logs, though we have something of a network, it gets used more rarely. Annnnd we're not very quick, while being super backtag friendly. We also allow backdating into eternity if you want to backdate CR with someone from before your character was apped by you too, due to how the game is set up.

We have a pretty temporally diverse Star Wars cast at outer_divide (Knight Errant's Kerra Holt, an ESB era Luke Skywalker and my late X-Wing series Wes Janson). Personally, I've always wanted to play off a Legacy era character, but either one would be fun! The game is fairly slow paced and lives for backtags. AC is five log comments, no posts required.

There's a whole world available to explore, and the mod is terrific about "So if I went to THIS place on the map, what would happen?". There's a lot of room for players to impact the plot (we broke history one time). Also, dinosaurs.

Ahhhh Isaac! I'd love him at lastvoyages. I play Scott from S1 as of right now, but he's getting updated to the end of s3 in a couple weeks. TLV doesn't have a metaplot, but it's not really a jamjar either - every character is there either to be redeemed/earn a second chance as an inmate, or help an inmate earn that chance in exchange for a deal with the devil Admiral as a warden. There's an Orihime at user <name="genessia"> who would love some castmates! The metaplot at the game is just starting (it's still a relatively new game), and our most recent major metaplot event involved a giant monster attacking one of the cities. It's slow-to-medium paced (though it speeds up during events), and has one of the most manageable AC's I've ever seen. As for backtag friendly, I'm still tagging a thread that's over a month old.

Hiyorii! I'm so glad to see her offered here and I luckily have a game that might be interesting to you. Sadly, we have no castmates, but the setting appears really fitting to me.

afterliving is a comm-based game with a pace varying between slow and medium, depending on state of events. It is literally set in the afterlife (Angel Beats! is the basis, but there is no need to have seen that), where characters who didn't have a fulfilled childhood and/or died with regrets can go to school to finally find peace and become happy.
Except that's not what most characters do. They rebel instead.

The game has something of an overaching plot but in between plot themes, there is a lot of room for daily live and character relationships to be played out.

I've always thought it'd be a good setting to see KagePro characters in, so I'd be overjoyed to see Hiyori there.

Driveby love for Alto before we start

So what are your feelings on canon AU games? We have a small P4 cast at bravenewnworld and I'd love to see them intermingle with a P3 cast. Also Minako is a cutie, so.

Brave New World is a Pokemon AU game with an emphasis on world exploration, with an over-arching plot involving old gods and piecing together bits of old civilization to help prevent repeating the past that wiped them out in the first place. We're also extremely player-plot friendly, and encourage players to help actively affect the setting.
