Welcome, Fellow Traveler! The elevator pitch: Exiles meets Diana Wynne Jones’ Homeward Bounders. If you’re familiar with Sliders or Quantum Leap, there’s a bit of that too.

Synodiporia is an AU-hopping panfandom exploration game where ‘event’ and ‘setting’ are one and the same. Unknown entities have gathered a group of people from across the multi-verse, and sent them on a long, strange journey together, crashing into one world after another, meddling in local affairs, and then whisking them off again. In each world some of the travelers are ‘investigators,’ conscious of the fact that they’re new arrivals in a foreign dimension, and some are ‘infiltrators,’ believing themselves to be natives, immersed in local customs, with implanted memories of a life that never was.

As the travelers progress from world to world, they learn new skills - from the natives or from one another. In prohibition-era Brooklyn, gangsters might teach someone how to shoot a tommy gun. In a fantasy kingdom, you might pick up a little wizardry. A PC from the Persona franchise might teach you how to unlock your own Persona, no matter what canon you’re from. You can also learn to manipulate the psychic network linking everyone together, gaining telepathic or dimensional manipulation abilities. As you change the worlds, the worlds change you.

We accept all original characters as well as alternate universe and previous game versions of characters, and under certain conditions, we also can accept multiple versions of the same character. When you apply, your character can be new to Traveling, or a veteran who’s been doing this for quite some time. More information about veteran Travelers can be found on the Previous Universes & Acquiring Skills pages, as well as suggestions for introing a veteran character here.

Besides that, there will be additional mini-events in pocket universes, player plots, dream explorations, Shadow Selves… and the ongoing investigation into the mysterious forces that drew you here. You’re pawns in a game spanning time and space, but a pawn who advances far enough can make big changes, and there are plenty of secrets to uncover.

Applications are open from July 5th-13th. We are currently voting on a light-hearted Jaunt, either Space Opera or Magical Girls! We hope to see you there!

We have a cap of 100 characters, however we currently have about 75 characters, so we have plenty of room for new faces! We do not currently have reserves, but we highly recommend if you are interested in applying to post to the current test drive and get to know some of our current characters.

Forest Covered is a panfandom slice of life RPG taking a loose base from world mythologies, folklores, and the body of work of Studio Ghibli; particularly Spirited Away.

Existing on another plane of reality are many hundreds of cities catering to the unseen world of spirits. These cities are vast and strange, in many ways familiar, but inhabited mostly by creatures from folklore and myth. Most of them do not actually live in the cities for long, instead passing through them on their way to new places in the human world to call home, or just visiting for a vacation. In fact, the cities are quickly evolving into massive tourist spots, and spirits are just eating it up! Sometimes literally.

Of course, the problem with rapid expansion is the need for more labour. Lesser spirits are numerous, but projecting the image of an exotic getaway calls for something new. That's where you come in.

You aren't the first and you won't be the last taken from outside the spirit realm and put to work here, in the growing city of Koriko. Don't worry, though; the witch that runs the island picked you because you have a debt to pay. Just by working here, she'll absolve your debt and grant you a little favour in return. Just sign your name away and you'll be put to work serving the vacationing spirits.

Oh, you want to know how long it will take to pay off your debt? Well, that's up to you isn't it? You read the fine print...

The CITY OF ARIEL is a pan-fandom, dystopian sex game set inside a futuristic city on a ruined world that has seen many cycles of strife over the years. The city's core founders--Ariel, Belenus, Scylla, and [REDACTED]--wanted to build a liberating paradise focused exclusively on sensual pleasure. But the problem with good intentions is just how easily they can become corrupted.

IN THE CITY OF ARIEL, YOU CAN FIND...

★ Generally a slower-paced roleplaying experience. (One in-game day is equal to three days in real time.)
★ Based on community journals, with welcoming players who will respect your preferences and boundaries.
★ Open to original characters. Backtag-friendly. Monthly AC requirement of smut comments. An optional core game mechanic known as Status AC encourages you to finish your smut threads, no matter how long it takes. You'll receive all sorts of meaningful rewards for doing so.
★ Speaking of which, returning characters can recover their original status level with a minimum of fuss involved.
★ Monthly, usually optional events for your sandboxing pleasure. There's also a very bold metaplot that has recently kicked off in earnest with terrorism, a horrific storm, and mysterious technological artifacts. Due to rigorous documentation, it's easy to catch up with what's going on and get involved if you're interested in doing so. It's absolutely your choice to follow the "main campaign" of the game or not.

As you saw your homeworld shattering before your eyes, you found a Crystal and you sank into a void. Then, you finally come to your senses in the world of Crystallis, only to be welcomed by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who will accompany you for the rest of your journey. Indeed, you are told you are a Hero of Light, one of the legendary heroes who once fought the Calamity from the Skies and saved the world! But now, thousands of years later, the recently formed Heran Empire threatens the stability of the world once again, and signs of the impending return of Calamity arise...

Should the Calamity return, not only Crystallis but the entirety of the worlds shall be destroyed. Will you follow the destiny these people have cast unto you, or will you drift away and walk your own path? No matter what the answers is, you will have to pierce the secrets of this world if you want to go home.

melodiesoflife is a plot-driven adventure roleplay featuring an overarching plot, with a few slice of life elements. The game is open to Canon Characters, AUs and OCs!

♦ The roleplay takes place in Crystallis, a world inspired by the Final Fantasy franchise where magic and technology co-exist. No prior knowledge of the Final Fantasy franchise is necessary to play in Melodies of Life! In spite of all the references, the world of Crystallis is an original one.

♦ Upon waking up in Crystallis, characters are all equipped with Jobs: White Mage, Dark Knight, Gunner, etc. They replace what powers they may have once had. Up to two Jobs can be equipped at once and they can be switched regularly.

♦ Characters in Melodies of Life all have their own Moogle! Besides being fluffy and faithful companions, Moogles are those who can switch characters' Jobs.

♦ Mognet is the network in Melodies of Life. It is entirely mail-based and handled by your Moogles. Characters can write a mail and send it to one or many characters: their Moogle will take the mail and make sure everyone receives it within a few hours.

♦ Melodies of Life is a slow game that can grow medium-paced during events. The player base is very backtag friendly and the Activity Check is easy, with a monthly requirement of Seven Log Comments, Fifteen Mognet Comments or a Post (only one of the three).

♦ Applications open on a bi-monthly basis. Reservations are currently open until April 30th and Applications will be open from May 01st to May 08th.

There's the London we all know.

And then there's the Underground. The real Underground, a secret world of supernatural forces and strange creatures that walk the city streets hidden in plain sight. Witches, vampires, werewolves. Shapeshifters and humans with extraordinary powers. Ghosts. And the Other Realm, where the fae dwell, and where magic leaks out into every corner of the city.

While the parties of Westminster fight their political battles, there is another much more dangerous power struggle going on. It's a battle for territory, and it is fought by the various supernatural factions that claim dominion over the city.

About the Game
The Underground is an alternate universe (AU) game set in a supernatural version of modern-day London. The game is a mix of urban fantasy and supernatural drama, with slice-of-life elements and political intrigue.

You've been going about your life as you normally do. Fighting, transforming, flirting, falling in love, winning competitions, attending school, singing your heart out-- whatever it is they normally do. That's when it happens: you get pulled out of your universe--

Okay, no, that's not what happens. Life goes on, just as it always has, but you can't seem to get the internet to leave you alone. Maybe you don't even know what internet is! There's just this really strange duck perched on your computer screen, in your book, taking over your mirror, and it's accompanied by a magical internet community called Drama Drama Duck.

The name might be a little confusing, but it looks like there are other people on this website. Sometimes it'll start recording you unexpectedly, sometimes it will be there for you when you're having a tough time, sometimes it'll straight-up screw with you.

The Community, as it's known by its userbase, is a cross-universe blogging website that won't go away until your character uses it and interacts with other characters from other series (worlds). It looks like Dreamwidth and acts like Dreamwidth, but it's connected to the worlds of multiple canons and allows your characters to meet new people from other universes while still going through canon events. Avert unfortunate events, make your character's life better (or worse) by interacting with other characters, or even just have your character's life ruined by monthly events and viruses!

You feel that something's... wrong. You don't quite remember what you were doing the moments before you now find your eyes trying to adjust to the darkness, the cold; you're somewhere underground, soldiers milling all around you. There are dog tags around your neck and some kind of digital imprinting on your wrist that seems to glow in the dark and reads: ʀᴇɢɪsᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ ʜᴇʀᴏ.

"So, hero," says a woman's voice, her face in shadows as a machine hums into glowing blue life behind her. "You're about to be a part of something bigger than yourself; I hope you're up for it." Before you can answer, you're ushered somehow upward, leaving you with only her final words -- "Don't worry. We're the good guys." -- before you're enveloped in blue light and suddenly blinking the bright Florida sunlight from your eyes. A soldier escorts you to a car, where she proceeds to debrief you on the situation as she drives you to your lodgings. Your home, for now.

Settle into your new house, your new job, get used to your powers, make some friends, keep your ear to the ground. Or, if that's not your style, get your villain hat on and cause some real mayhem, or put on a costume and bring back the era of the caped crusader... just be careful how you do it. This is bigger than you, and you didn't ask to be recruited. What you do next is up to you.

MASK OR MENACE, sequel to

capeandcowl, is a panfandom RPG based on the graphic novel New Frontier and set in a parallel, modern day universe... with a twist. Although the year is 2015, some sentiments and technology may be more reminiscent of the 1950s Cold War era, and some may seem far flung from the future. Anti-hero sentiment runs rampant, but you're a special case. That and officially a government secret.

Will you use your powers for good, for evil, or will you even use them at all? The choice is up to you, Hero.

About the Game:

Maison de Portes is a pan-fandom survival horror/mystery game. The potential for death and harm to come to your characters is almost guaranteed. The game is prose-only, with a very easy activity check. We have multiple story paths, with endings to be decided by the actions of the characters. The game is slow to mid paced, fairly small, with lots of chances for characters to work together to solve the situation they find themselves in. You open your eyes and see you’re in a giant winged egg-like building, in a world completely different from your own home. Floating bunnies are here to greet you, cheerfully handing you a journal and chirping encouragements to write to those you know. From the doorway, you can smell the sea, hear the wind in the trees, see the long road sprawling out to meet a little city before you. It’s almost peaceful, even though when you try to step out, you’re blocked from leaving by a powerful force. Outside, the world seems bright and warm, and the voices behind you are cheerful. But still, you cannot leave.

ABOUT US: The Basics
❀ Kiseki is a panfandom jamjar game set in the separate world of Miracle Country, a series of magical islands. It is a CLAMP inspired (meaning series such as Card Captor Sakura, X/1999, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, and Magic Knight Rayearth – just to name a few), but no prior knowledge of the manga-ka is necessary to join – it’s great for both CLAMP enthusiasts and canon-blind appers.

❀ Kiseki has both game-wide events and player-run plots, with events tending to run on at least a monthly basis, ranging in themes from fluffy/shippy to more action/plot-heavy events. There’s a range from light-hearted, slice-of-life events to more horror-based or survival-based. Events are also replayable, within reason, inviting more character-driven plotting. There’s a huge emphasis on building CR and interpersonal relationships between characters.

❀ Kiseki is a small game (10 players and 35 characters) with a small and friendly player base, very backtag friendly and accommodating to all tagging-speeds and tagging styles; we have a bi-monthly AC of 35 comments total or one open post.

❀ Reserves are always open and last for one week, and the application itself is simple: no third person required! TDM threads can be used in the application to provide a sample of the character’s voice and characterization.

❀ The game pace is overall medium-paced, sometimes faster during events and comments tend more towards comment-spam rather than prose. However, our players match pace and format easily and the game accommodates all tagging styles.

❀ The game is comm-based and gameplay consists of both open logs and journal entries posted through magically-connected paper journals.

❀ We now have a test drive open to everyone!

ABOUT US: The Extras
❀ Kiseki has no medium divide with players – anime, video game, cartoon, and LA characters are all welcome! We are also lone canon warrior friendly and obscure canon friendly.

❀ Kiseki is all around ship-friendly. Both canon ships, cross-canon ships, and cross-media ships are welcome!

❀ There is no forced-humanization for non-human characters. Power-nerfing is relative, usually left up to the mun’s own discretion. Characters with powers that are too disruptive can work things out with the mods who will do their best to accommodate them and the game itself.

❀ Kiseki is kid character friendly, with characters as young as six or seven in game before. The mods are always willing to work out accommodations and consider them when designing events.

❀ We are on insanejournal which means all free accounts get 100 free icons; insanejournal is currently on invite-code only, so please feel free to poke me if you need a code – upon acceptance into the game, an invite code can be provided if you need it.

RAISE THE EARTH

We won the war. The invaders were repelled, somehow. They returned to their realm, and left us in peace to pick up the pieces. There's so much to do... and something else is coming. Not like this. Something new. Something dangerous. Something we're going to have to figure out on our own. And we don't have the Animals to rely on, this time. It's up to us. But we can do it. We've saved the Earth already. Now - we just have to keep it safe. Easy, right?

raisetheearth is a hybrid of an AU and a memory loss game; it's a sequel to

savetheearth, set one year later. Player characters have been reincarnated into new lives on a normal Earth; havoc began three years ago, when pink lights appeared in the sky over Locke City, New Jersey, and things got crazy from there. In the year since the plot of Save the Earth ended, things have started to cool down, and the world has started to rebuild since then. Characters will soon have a new enemy to fight, though, and they'll have to leverage the memories, abilities, quirks, and possessions of their past lives to hold their own. While the plot has a planned direction, it's highly responsive to character actions - things the players do or don't do can change the story. Nothing resolves without character action. Push forward bravely, and discover the future.

Raise the Earth is open to canon and original characters. Applications will include both the canon version of the character (the "preincarnation") and their reincarnation that's lived a normal life on this world until recently, when they received their first Echoes - their first regains. Reserves open on July 1st; the game's first Test Drive meme and CR/Planning meme are both live today, so you can prepare and plan. Applications open July 8th. The game opens July 25th!

✿ You wake up at a desk in a classroom, your hand clutching a piece of paper rolled up and tied with red ribbon. Beyond the windows is a flat grey fog. Outside the windows at the end of the room furthest from you stands a tree bursting with pink blossoms - but no, you lean closer to the window and there is no tree outside. The blossoms are painted onto the window, and are strangely shaped. Near the painted flowers stands a teacher, arms crossed, glaring straight at you. The teacher turns back to the blackboard and begins to speak, but you understand nothing.

Was everything you remember a dream? As you look at the students, some whispering and others smirking, all stealing glances at you, you realize they all look exactly the same. And when evening descends, all too soon, you begin to realize the halls are not what they seem.

✿ Inugami is a panfandom high school psychological/body horror game with a focus on the Lovecraft mythos and Japanese mythology. Your character takes the role of a student at Inugami Academy, where everything is eerily normal - but only on the surface. You don't know it yet, but somebody has broken this world and hidden it from you — hidden the death of everything around you, covered the world up with lies and pretty memories, cut away the destruction they accidentally inflicted and tried to deny. But they couldn't turn their eyes from the truth forever, and in the end, reality made itself felt: the world has already rotted away at its core. You were living amidst the decay all along — you just never realized it until now. But how could you have missed something so obvious?

Because you didn't believe it was real.

Carvaka is a sex game with a survival/adventure style and an ongoing metaplot. Characters are not transported to the setting, but wake up to familiar surroundings. Familiar, but decaying and ruined, as if no one has been around them in years. This is the true state of their home, and accepting or not, they're the only ones who can fix things.

You awaken in a world of limitless technology and innovation, where luxury and pleasure exist at your convenience, but for how long? And at what price? Your world as you know it only survives in a series of numbers and symbols—the rest is long gone. But there is more out there in the big, wide universe than just a single colony on a single, jungle planet. Characters are pulled into Cerealia by CERES as leftover code from their destroyed world. Surrounded by the wild jungles of Tellus, the colony survives, granting the characters a new life—but for what purpose?

CEREALIA is a pan-fandom plot-heavy game in a sci-fi/digital fantasy setting with occasional adult themes. The overall storyline will be unfolding slowly and bringing forth new dimensions as time goes on, but for now, the center of events occur within a single, technologically-enhanced colony and the mysteries behind its development.

They call the mists the Miasma. It’s a dangerous and chaotic cloud of swirling black and purple. Some might find it beautiful, some might find it eerie, and all will know that they are here because of it.

Waking in a cloud of swirling vapors, as though released from a bubble of chaos that’s finally burst, you find yourself somewhere new, somewhere different, somewhere alien. This planet is young, ever growing and ever changing, and still wild and barely tamed.

And you, poor refugee, are stuck here.

Do not worry. You are not alone in this alien place. There are other refugees, doing what they can to make a home for themselves in this strange place or looking for ways to get back to their own homes. There are people from all times and realities, all sizes, races, and beliefs, from robots to organics, and more. Who knows? You may be lucky enough to find a familiar face among the residents.

Along with the refugees are the Guardians. Beings of enormous powers, if not always enormous statures, have taken up residence within the city. They are here to keep the Miasma at bay, though they have other purposes as well. They may not say what, but some may hint that there is a power out there that could be the key to sending you home. Should you help them, you may find yourself blessed with gifts most mortals only dream of.

Anger them, and you risk facing the chaos of the Miasma alone.

Work hard, refugee. You can become a part of this new and alien world, help build and shape the budding culture that is forming here. You can help the Guardians, or you can search for your own way home. Perhaps you are here for a reason, fated to change a world? Destroy it? Build it? Your fate is in your hands now, refugee. Your fate and the fate of this planet may well rest on your shoulders.

Kismet Loop is a panfandom game set on Cybertron, the home planet of the robotic race you may know as Transformers. The planet is compatible to robotic and organic life. The game is slow paced and welcome to all fandoms and OCs. Characters are even welcome to keep CR development from previous games. The game involves life on an alien world, monthly random events (participation optional), and plot events (player plots also welcome).
