If slice of life is a plus, have you considered forestcovered? It's a primarily slice-of-life game loosely based on Spirited Away, where characters sign a contract and work at a resort island for spirits. They lose their memory of their names and are given work names instead, but they can regain those and that's the only memory loss.

Historically, lone canon warriors and minor canons have done very well in Forest Covered! The AC is 20 comments every month from at least two different threads.

Obviously people drop sometimes, but in some games it's explained by characters dying or wandering off on their own or something like that, and isn't something that anyone is expecting to happen. I hope that makes sense. I'll consider games that don't have this, but it would be a huge incentive.

Hi there! This is my first time responding to someone on here, so I hope I'm doing it right.

You might want to consider joining us over at thewake. The Wake is a panfandom fantasy game; AC's pretty easy- two pieces per month (can expand to three if your character ranks up via in-game mechanics, though this is completely optional)- and any participation in a prose log counts as a piece of AC. Any network post your character makes also counts (provided you make an effort to respond to replies), or 12 action-spam comments on someone else's network post (can also be divided between two comment threads, as long as there's a total of 12).

We've got a few characters from the Star Wars universe there; clone troopers Fives and Echo from The Clone Wars, Kanan and Sabine from Rebels, and my Kit Fisto here, also from The Clone Wars (plus some brief appearances in Episodes II and III). Characters lose access to their powers on arrival, but can gain them back fairly easily, and while HMD memes go up every so often, they're not mandatory.

The game is pretty active, and while there's a long-term overarching metaplot and plenty of events, event participation is completely optional, and characters are encouraged to develop, explore, and change things about themselves and their environment. Characters who've been dropped are generally said to have gone back to 'Sleep' and returned whence they came, but the player is welcome to come up with their own explanation as well ("Character went off exploring and never came back." "Character was eaten by a giant spider and didn't respawn." "Character noped off to live as a crazy hermit somewhere that other characters will never find." etc.) and have that used in game. As far as the characters in-game are concerned, getting home is actually pretty difficult; while people going back to 'Sleep' happens, it's not something the characters have to worry about overly much.

How would you feel about putting Chara into another rpg format? melodiesoflife is Final Fantasy-inspired game that fits all your criteria (and I'd have to say the thorough and wonderful worldbuilding is a plus), wherein characters are given FF job class powers to try to stop the end of the world--but...! Given this is them, I imagine they might find it more interesting than really wanting to stop it... And I already feel bad for the monsters! We have a few players of morally gray characters who I know would love to see less goody-two-shoes types.

I've been waffling around the idea of apping an Undertale myself sometime! Muse decisions come hard though when the story is so rich you almost feel guilty about the idea of dividing your attention. 8Ia

tl;dr - Various characters have been kidnapped across time and space... to be brainwashed into super famous musicians. However, slowly, they're starting to get their memories back. On the other end of things, rescuers have been recruited- because of a kidnapped castmate, because of altruism, because they were too drunk to refuse at the time- and are adjusting to the big strange city that is Vista.

You can app as either a rescuer or a musician now! It's not planned to be a short run game, but there's plenty to do and easy ways for people to get involved in the game.

Tu Shanshu would love to have you. There is an overarching metapot, but the direction of the plot is mostly defined by character choices and actions. There is political intrigue, lots of opportunity for both Sol and Plotting. Plus a fabulous mod team and enthusiastic player base.
